The casting for this season has been *chef's kiss*... except for one role. Unfortunately the one role is the lead role. Rosario Dawson is a fine actress but she just doesn't have the energy that Ahsoka, even an older Ahsoka should have.

I'd be happy if they somehow "deaged" Ahsoka through the Force and brought back Arianna Greenblat (the actress who played young Ahsoka) to play the part. She has the energy for the role at least. I'd go 7 ish for the season. Set some things up, but the execution was a bit off and I just can't get into Rosario as Ahsoka.
I don't mind Dawson as Ahsoka, and she was really good in The Mandalorian.

I will say, it does look like she's getting thicker in this show, and the choreography for the fights could have been better. With the wide angle shots they're just casually waving.

I don't get people complaining about all the cliffhangers, they're clearly setting up for something. I could see this being the focus for the next Mandalorian season, and then you get a movie (or trilogy) to pay it off.
*If the sequel trilogy didn't exist, this would be the most eagerly anticipated movie ever. The ground would be laid, and it would be the Star Wars we all wanted; you could have the de-aged Luke from Mando/Boba being guided by Force Ghosts, the deep fake CGI Leia from Andor, with a cameo of deep fake Han in it. Truly the continuation we'd all have loved.

I'll be honest fellas. I turned it off when the stormtroopers rose from the dead. The fight sequence that preceded it was kinda goofy too.

Here's a random question that could tie series together-

Would Hera have known Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) from Andor? Seems like she would, or at least someone from her group would. If he's still kicking (fingers crossed), wouldn't he be the one she went to when she got in trouble with the senate? He knew the various resistance cells, was one of the architects for building that Alliance. He knew where all the bodies were buried.
And we're talking maybe a decade after Andor, as that was 5 BBY, and this is maybe 5 ABY.

Bingo. That’s the biggest problem. We all know that no matter what they do it leads to that garbage. We all know that the people responsible for the Sequel Trilogy will be or already are involved in anything going forward. It’s hard to get excited when you already know it’s a lost cause.

uh huh. we all believe you watched 7 episodes of this show, then get to the finale and "turn it off" when there's like 10 minutes left in the season.

Yep.

Hell I wouldn't care if they simply recasted Luke and Lei. They already did for Han.

I know the easy answer is watch the clone war / rebels but which of the two girls did Ezra have a thing with?

because honestly it seems like both Hera and Sabine have a crush on him and he seems to friendzone them both. Hell Sabine put the whole galaxy in danger for a crush.

The last two episodes I thought werent that great. Thrawn was disappointing from all I had heard about him. Just give me a clone wars live action series with Hayden and young ashoka. Hayden is the only one right now that needs to be retained for future stuff....maybe Ewen as well.

Ezra simped after Sabine who kept him in the friend zone. They seemed to hint towards the end thay maybe Sabine actually had feelings for him too, but was too afraid to admit it.

Hera and Kanan were like foster parents that adopted Ezra and Sabine and raised them. The show was not shy about making it known that Kanan and Hera were a loving couple that was effectively married. So, Ezra and Sabine were sorta like step-siblings. Kanan was a former jedi padawan who survived Order 66 and became Ezra’s jedi master. Hera and Kanan’s biological son is Jacen, the kid with the green hair. Kanan died towards the end of Rebels.

Zeb was the big goofy uncle, and Chopper was constantly trying to murder Ezra and commit war crimes. Ahsoka was also there sometimes, kinda like the cool wine aunt that comes in for the holidays sometimes.

I think what happened here is:
1. Ezra always loved her.
2. Sabine had an avoidant style and was afraid to be close to anyone because she had effectively been cast out of her family.
3. Her surrogate father in Kanan dies to save them.
4. Sabine slowly realizes that she really loves Ezra, but is too afraid of being hurt/vulnerable to admit it.
5. Ezra disappears with Thrawn during the Battle of Lothal. Sabine is apart from Ezra for the first time since she was like 12.
6. Sabine’s real family is completely slaughtered by the Empire during the Purge of Mandalore.
7. The ghost crew goes their separate ways after the Empire is defeated, meaning Sabine is now apart from Zeb and Hera as well.
8. Sabine fails in her jedi training with Ahsoka and feels abandoned by Ahsoka as well.
9. Sabine becomes increasingly obsessed with Ezra because he’s the only person who loved her and never abandoned her, to the point that she’s willing to betray the Republic just for the opportunity to see him again.
10. Sabine sacrifices her opportunity to go back to the Galaxy to “save” Ezra.

Ahsoka had some flirty will they/won’t they with a boy during Clone Wars. I don’t think she’s supposed to be gay, but Disney Will probably make her gay because REASONS.

I have a firm policy of not allowing Kanan's death to be mentioned without clarifying that he died sacrificing himself by displaying one of the strongest uses of the force in the Canon universe.

It can be argued that Kanan, a cartoon character that 50% of fans couldn't pick out of a jedi lineup, ended up being one of the greatest jedi in history.

(Steps on soap box)
You know, some of you are insufferable. You bitch about Star Wars moving beyond the Skywalker family, and then you bitch when they do and do world building. You bitch about having to watch a cartoon to get this show while never actually watching the cartoon to see that it’s fantastic storytelling. Im not really sure what you all want.

I’ll be honest. I ask myself at least 10 times an episode during all of these post RoTJ series ‘Where the hell are these people in the sequel series?’ And I don’t like the answer. Either they all die, or it’s shitty writing. I get it. Disney really screwed themselves.

But there’s roughly 30 years of stories to tell in this time period before TFA. So there’s a lot that can be told, by people that actually have a love for the IP. And I believe Filoni and Favreau do. So stop being bitter, take a step back, and enjoy what we are getting without thinking about where it will go. If it’s popular enough, maybe Disney will just pass off the sequel trilogy as a Force Dream.
(Steps off soapbox)

Now, I enjoyed where this is going. I liked the ending and Forceghost Anakin smiling at Ashokas understanding of this. I echo some of you in that Rosario looks very awkward during the combat scenes. Maybe she can take a bunch of lessons. Some of the coolest bonus features from RotS are Ewan and Hayden’s training videos on how much effort they put into making that fight as intense as it was.

I like the possibilities going forward. This is a lot of fun.

Thrawn was absolutely terrible in this show. You can tell he was written by a guy with room temperature IQ because they had absolutely no idea how to write him intelligently

I didn’t really enjoy this series because I didn’t watch the children’s cartoons that are a prerequisite and it’s obvious you’re kinda lost if you didn’t.

Instead of Snoke and the return of Palpatine, they could’ve made Thrawn return and be the main villain of the sequel trilogy.

This was the obvious play, and they missed it BAD.

Thrawn should've always been the head of the First Order.
