Owned by Cooke Seafood which is a Canadian Company
Omega was founded in the US and was a US company up until Cooke bought them 2017, the company that actually owns the boats is Ocean Harvesters which is a US company....bc a foriegn company cant own and operate these boats under a US Flag due to Jones Act laws

This N La baw gives no fricks.
The problem with LA in a nutshell. So many retards in this state think because it doesn’t impact them directly it doesn’t matter.

The "give no fricks" issue abounds statewide. It just happens to be most convenient for N. La. dumbasses in this particular case.
If people will think for a moment, this issue of the rape of the state's resources embraces its land, waters and its air.
And every election season good ole baws are warned by people like LABI of the dangers of gubmint regulation, which, of course is always evil.
Even when it is a reasonable restraint on waste/ destruction of our land, water and air.
You can go too far with regulation. OR the lack thereof. We tend toward the latter.

Went to creole last week. There were dozens of redfish dead on the beach.

Put it into a perspective you can understand…if someone decided that rice and acorn oil was the next cure all or filler for some type of feed, companies flock to N LA and harvested every grain or every acorn and in the mean time their bycatch (deer, ducks, squirrels, rabbits, turkeys) were left to rot in the woods…then would you care? That’s what we are dealing with by allowing the pogey industry to operate as it does now. All the while the “studies” show a decline in mature breeding populations and the blame is falling on the recreational fishermen via proposed smaller limits and more constricted slot sizes

Can’t let grandpa and grandson keep 12” trout on their one day of fishing that year but it’s ok for pogy boats to rape 850,000 fish in four days.

Why do you think Waguespack's response is any different from Landry? They sound exactly the same.

Have you ever heard Landry speak?

I dont live or fish in LA but am still angry about yalls situation. If this were happening in GA, I would be organizing an eco-terrorist operation.

QUESTION: As Governor, to protect our shorelines and the fish and wildlife that live there, will you support a minimum one-mile menhaden harvest buffer zone off Louisiana’s coast?
I think when read with the question, those answers sound pretty different. Waguespack said yes. Landry did not.

Whale Wars with coonasses at the helm is something that might actually be effective

The vast majority of LA people are unawares. Pogy boats are major political donors to keep ruling powers approving or denying proposed law which would favor the pogy industry. These are foreign owned entities and shouldn't be allowed to operate within any U.S. state water.
Louisiana allows this to take place because of how easy it is to toss a politician a few bones and have them do their bidding. It's the same as any 3rd world locale with bountiful natural resources. They get pimped and raped by foreign entities who care not for tomorrow or the detrimental effect of current operations.
This x. 1000.
Same operation happens across the board for every industry imaginable, and on a national level, too.
Both our state AND national representatives are BOUGHT AND PAID FOR, and it’s past time we fix this bullshite.

Same. And those republican senators on the committee reaping straight ticket voting habits should be black balled down on the coast.

It's 1/4 mile now I'm pretty sure and they don't enforce it. I'm pretty sure making it 1 mile won't do shite. You can go kn Marine Finder and see thier boats right off of Fourchon Beach.

But TJohn keeping his specks as a guide is why the fishery is strained.
Got it. Mmmkay.

LINK
they are all in a straight line moving East at 11 knots...must be heading back to Mississippi to offload
