Jiu Jitsu keeps me sane and relives a ton of frustration.
Also makes me look quite spicy physically for a dad of 3 in his 40s

Work sucks unless you’re a company owner or one of those sycophants that sucks up to the owner or higher ups and makes work their whole identity (friends, social time, etc is all work related.) We have a few of those at my company and they have zero boundaries between their personal and professional life.
I don’t understand devoting your whole life to someone else’s company or business. Work is work and at the end of the day, everyone is replaceable. I do a good job, but I’m done at 40 hours each week. I only work to take vacations with my family and have money to spend on people and things and hobbies I actually care about.

I pure’d a 4 iron from 200 out and put it to within 10 feet of the pin on Monday.
Got more out of that strike than anything I’ve ever done at work.

I don’t know how this is possible, I spend more time on hobbies than work.
Do you really want to be 80 and look back at all those great days in the office?

Make any sort of exercise your hobby. You will feel a lot better.
You're a dude, so get into history or comedy podcasts if you're not big into reading.

I do not carry a 4 iron, but I made 3 birdies and shot 79 today. For me, that is a great day.
I’m retiring fairly soon. Can’t wait to give up the job.

Does it make my life bearable? Nah...I'm fine without my hobby. Does it greatly enhance my life? You bet. Unfortunately, I can only partake in my hobby 5 months a year as a snowboarder. Definitely get withdrawals once the season is over.

I'm retired, so my hobbies give me something to do when I feel like doing them. I've got a pretty big backyard vegetable garden, a well equipped woodworking/mechanic shop, love riding my motorcycle for some short day trips and long distance runs, do all the maintenance on the house and vehicles and cook 90+% of the meals we eat.
So, I stay busy.

I collect coins, mostly gold & silver. At present, I'm working on a collection of Ben Franklin half dollars (1948-63). They were in circulation when I was born. Coin collecting gives me something to think about besides work.

I need a hobby. Bad. One that doesn’t cost a fortune. Can’t hunt or fish in the city that easily. Not particularly creative or mechanically inclined. It was booze for a lot of years, but I gave that up and now I got a lot of free time.

No. I love my family and enjoy being with them. And my job is low stress and I enjoy it. But having hobbies is fun too. I’d hate to spend most hours of the week just waiting for my hobbies

As I got older I dabbled in making small pieces of wooden furniture. I also had an interest in firearms and went to the shooting range fairly regularly with the youngsters. Rode dirt bikes with the kids. Coached some baseball and football.
Now, I do retired stuff and fix things.

When I get some down time I like welding up something I need, new shop table, hand tool organizers, pipe gates etc. Guess my hobby is more work but thats how I roll.
That’s something I’m getting set up for. I have three oxygen and three acetylene bottles. Two sets of gauges. Hoses and about three drag up bags of welder hand tools.
All I need is a welding machine. I’ve never welded with wire, just stick. Need to build about 300’ of fence using tubing for post , angle iron and sheet metal. 10’ feet high.
Someone stole my old Lincoln cracker box.

Taekwondo, golf, disc golf, and mountain biking make the work week better. I do not do them all in one week but it’s a nice spread throughout the month.
