Automation and AI will be taking on the responsibility and tasks that would normally be performed by people making less than $50,000/year. For other things, they will outsource to a company willing to provide people/services for less than $25/hr

Really inspiring when Mom & Pop operations like Bank of America invest in their workers. This is good for America.

So they can rent an apartment with a roommate or 2 and finance a 10 year old car while they have nothing left to put in savings.

Only because their CEO was shamed in public testimony by that congresswoman

Here's the thing

If prices increased because they have to attract better talent for those wages - Better talent means better service - I am all for it

BUT, if it's some dude who was making $16/hour and automatically gets bumped up to $25/hour while still providing shite garbage service... that's where I have a big fricking problem

Seems strange to attack Bank of America for paying its employees better.

Granted it was in the early 90s but I remember thinking if I ever make $50k/yr that I will have more money than I know what to do with. I can't imagine trying to build a life and raise a family on $50k today.

I for one am ecstatic my Bank of America banking fees are going up to help those less fortunate. Truth be told 80% of those employees will be replaced by AI anyway.

If this is so attractive to you, quit your job and go make minimum wage. Unless you’re already poor, Let me know how that goes.

I don’t know where you live but 50k would be more than enough for me to get by and have some to put in savings. You can always buy a used car with cash you know…

You can raise a family on 50k but only if you live in a small town

Banks have been trying to rid of tellers for years.
This should help fast track it

Yup. I'm all for it if they're not being forced to do so by the government.

They're a snake in the grass. With a more ethical company we wouldn't ask "what's the catch?"

Dual-income household, both in positions like tellers, both making around $50k would have a $100k household income. You can live on that.
