Update: he’s been ruled out for Arkansas game
I didn’t know of anything until right before kickoff Saturday AM, but it’s been reported that he wasn’t at practice last Thursday (9/14) & the team was told after practice that he had a medical emergency.
This was posted on his Instagram that day:
Hope they were able to get a full medical report & that we find out some good news today.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I heard he was suffering from vertigo probably due to the onset of something simple as allergies. ???

I've had vertigo before. Sometimes can take a couple of days to get over. Can also be caused by inner ear infection. Hope that's all it is.

Someone posted something far worse than Vertigo. I won't repeat it because if true, it was a serious HIPAA violation.

I don’t want to speculate, but I wouldn’t classify vertigo as a medical emergency. Maybe a side effect, but it sounds a little more serious

Not if they aren't a medical professional

I know it's wrong to speculate, but darkness could be depression. And you know what can happen on the extreme side of depression.

Honestly I don’t need to know.
Just want the dude to get better and have a full bill of health.

Not speaking on Greg's condition, but I can affirm that vertigo can be brought on by allergies. If your eustachian tubes get blocked, it can throw off the fluid in your inner ear.
It is easily treated, but it is no fun to go through, and is scary as all hell the first time you get it.
I don't wish it on anybody, but I hope vertigo is all this is.since it can be treated.
Prayers for a speedy recovery for Mr. Brooks.

He named his sister as his source. Huge violation for her. Awkward Thanksgiving for him.

I had it from allergies triggered by moving out of a house and into a new one.
Scared the bejezzus out of me. I was incapacitated for two days. Every time I got out of bed, my head was spinning uncontrollably

Get a bottle of ginger root and take aggressively. Then take 1 a day after gone. Vertigo is your worse nightmare. Sailers ate ginger root 200 years ago for seasickness.

I got vertigo during a basketball game. Just fell to the ground with the room spinning. They thought I was having a stroke. But that's not a medical emergency.

It's not vertigo. Vertigo was apparently a symptom of (rumored) brain issue.
And no I'm not a source or a medical professional. Just seeing some silly speculation in this thread about depression and such. Several sources yesterday confirmed then removed the details. It's not depression or allergies or simply vertigo.

Well the person who posted it said he got the info from his sister who was involved in Brooks’ medical care.
So the sister is guilty of a minor HIPPA violation. Glad that thread was whacked.

Vertigo can be a medical emergency. My first episode came out of the blue many years ago. Thru the years, I would instantly get an episode that would render me useless.....going from the whole world spinning, getting boiling hot and sweating to shivering cold in an minute. It would take me days to get over it, many times bedridden. I can fully understand how it could take down a young athlete in the prime of life. Fortunately over the years the episodes have become few and far between.
