Well said. That’s been exactly my experience with it as well.

Just for informative purposes, please be aware that it can also be the crystals in the inner ear, which can be reset easily at home. I have had success doing it myself the last few years.

It seems pretty clear based on how the coaches, including opposing team coaches, are discussing Greg Brooks we're dealing with a lot more than complications from vertigo. Praying he's ok.

Vertigo can be a medical emergency. My first episode came out of the blue many years ago. Thru the years, I would instantly get an episode that would render me useless.....going from the whole world spinning, getting boiling hot and sweating to shivering cold in an minute. It would take me days to get over it, many times bedridden. I can fully understand how it could take down a young athlete in the prime of life. Fortunately over the years the episodes have become few and far between.

This sounds like Ménière's disease. Which a bigger, more chronic deal than vertigo. I had vertigo for over a month last year. Was awful. Finally got my ear "crystals" right, which took going to an ENT.

I have two good friends with Ménière's disease, and it sounds 100x worse than what I had.

(And yes, thread jacked... Brooks doesn't have Ménière's disease, or simply vertigo)

I won't repeat it because if true, it was a serious HIPAA violation.

Why is everyone so afraid to repeat the rumors that it was a brain tumor? It either is or it isn't. Prayers for Greg either way.

Man if this is true then prayers to he and his family. My biggest medical fear is to get a brain tumor

Sure wish I knew how to treat it. It’s no joke when I get it and most of the time I can’t function. Then get very nauseated.

Honestly I don’t need to know. Just want the dude to get better and have a full bill of health.

That’s why people are asking. They are hoping to hear something that gives an idea on what the path to recovery looks like.

Based on Kelly’s response, I don’t think we will get that. And it’s a reasonable conclusion that this is a major problem.

Kelly said that Brooks was out for Saturday's game vs. Arkansas but did not go into the details, saying that the medical emergency was a family matter and he did not want to speak on behalf of the family.

When asked if he knew when "Brooks would be back again," Kelly said he did not.

He clarified that it is Greg’s medical emergency.

I'm just curious is it his medical emergency or is it a family medial emergency. Hard to tell the way he says it.

I do not mean to downplay vertigo but giving the game ball to greg brooks and the whole team playing for "3" sounds like it is more serious than vertigo.

Yea, It is not vertigo. The thread is deleted now i think but the speculation was much more serious.

That sucks. Is it in the same ballpark as what’s been speculated?
