re: 104.5 Jayden Daniels is thought of as a top Heisman candidate nationally but not in La.

I’ve said it numerous times that a small portion of the LSU fanbase are the only people that don’t think Jayden Daniels is a good QB
What did the national media think of Burrow, pre season.
One nut was saying Mond was a better QB than Burrow.

Daniels’ 2,913 passing yards is the fifth most in a single season in school history. If you factor in his rushing yards, Daniels accounted for the second most yardage in LSU’s history. His 3,798 yards are over 400 more than the second closest season (Rohan Davey’s 2001 season saw him accumulate 3,351 yards).

LSU fans still cant comprehend the way Burrow has warped our sense of good qb play. We got spoiled like no one ever has before. If it wasnt for burrow, Daniels would hold record for most all purpose yards in a season. And he got ragged on hard all last season.
He doesnt need to take that much of a leap to have a fantastic season.

UGA was able to pull away through some fluky plays like the blocked FG TD return and an INT that bounced off an LSU helmet instead of hitting ground.
How about A&M and Arkansas. Were those flukey.
It's a new season.
I hope what you guys are feeling is real.
Two more days and we can jump on or off the bandwagon.

Say he throws for 600 more yards, throws for 10 more TDs, and runs for 200 more yards. None of that would be considered a massive leap if he added those numbers on top of last season's. 3,500 yards passing. 27 TDs. 1,100 yards rushing.
We don't NEED Daniels to be the team's leading rusher this year.

It was with a new coach, a new team, a new offense and LSU had a depleted roster.
Outside of the depleted roster explain Arkansas?

For the most part the national guys thought he had improved late in 2018 and could make a jump in 2019. No one expected what actually happened.
There were still a portion of people on this board that didn’t like Burrow and wanted Myles Brennan to start over him.

I am sure he will. I know there are homers, but I've found it is normal for fans to be more skeptical or have more concerns than outside fans of the sport.

Jayden definitely improved but I actually like the added muscle he put on during the off-season. Should allow for less injuries. Well that and relying on his legs less.

I think LSU fans saw his inconsistencies more than the national media did last year. Throwing for under 100 yards in a college football game now a days is extremely frustrating. And he did it twice last year.
In one of those games he had the flu and LSU won both of them.

Daniels is the unicorn that Les Miles chased but never found... and I say that without malice. This is the dual threat QB he wanted, that probably would have kept LSU co-equal with Bama.
He can make any pass you ask him to, and if things break down he can kill you on the ground.

I think LSU fans still have PTSD from the Jordan Jefferson/Brandon Harris years. When our QB has any games without good passing stats (win or lose), we think back to that dark time of the QB position killing national champion level teams.
I believe he will be much improved this season and will throw effectively every game.
I have confidence in BK to develop players and his 2 nd year in his system will net noticeable improvement.

That’s great. Throwing for 80 yards and getting the win isn’t going to win you a Heisman, which is what we are talking about right?

Daniels is what Miles wanted. He's precisely what Perilloux was expected to be, and what Miles tried to do with Jefferson, Shepard, Johnson and Harris, but could never get to work.
We have some fans that see a mobile (and black) QB and say "that never worked here", but we never had a good one. If Deshaun Watson was here, he'd have won titles.
The concept is simple, and remains relevant today: sometimes you face an elite defensive front seven, and your QB just won't be able to stand in the pocket. Bama then, UGA now- they will make that QB run for his life.
With Daniels, doing that can add up to a lot of 15 yd scrambles, so the pass rush has to back off.
Look at the SEC Championship again... Daniels had 200 yds passing in the first half, against a defense that wasn't coasting. If LSU played defense that game's in reach, and he's on his way to a monster game.

The Heisman trophy has really turned into who has the most "big moments". It used to be who compiled the most stats.
It's very rarely the best player. Suh, Lavar Arrington, and Orlando Pace should have won it.

You just can't help yourself. Always have to throw at least one thing in your post that makes you look like a moron.
Yes, he was good against Bama. Yes, he played a big role in helping LSU win. Single handedly though? Come on.

It was Daniel’s arm and legs that beat Alabama in Tiger Stadium, first win for LSU at home vs Saban in what seems like an eternity.

Daniels had flu vs Arkansas.
A&M returned an LSU fumble for a TD in 3rd quarter after LSU just forced a 3 and out (Game Tied 17-17 at time) which changed whole game and breathed life into the stadium (Daniels fumbled so it's a knock against him). Daniels then got injured in 4th quarter.
And, yes, Daniels was inconsistent and played poorly at times throughout season, but he was looking better at tail end of season.

Ro threw for 444 in the Sugar Bowl that doesn't get included when people do these stat comparisons. Just saying.
