104.5 Jayden Daniels is thought of as a top Heisman candidate nationally but not in La.

Implied that LSU fans think less of Jayden Daniels as an elite QB than most fans and media do nationally, that Jayden Daniels is more respected nationally.

I hope Daniels gains more respect from our fans, he’s earned it, he single-handedly beat Alabama and Nick Saban. There are very few former LSU QB’s that can say that. And he’s very capable of doing it two years in a row, which would put him in with very elite company.

Daniels is one hell of a runner.

I really think people are expecting an average passing performance with like 800-1000 on the ground.

We all saw the missed WRs all year.

He's improved I'm sure.

He has to be more QB this year. Rely on his arm and his mind with his running ability being the cherry on top. That would do it for me.

I’ve said it numerous times that a small portion of the LSU fanbase are the only people that don’t think Jayden Daniels is a good QB

He was LSU’s leading passer and leading rusher in that game. Daniels put his team on his shoulders and carried LSU to victory.

Idk about that. I think the fanbase has a lot of love for JD but also knows he needs to let it go a little more this year. But the talk seems pretty optimistic.

If anything, I feel like it’s the rest of the country that keeps saying things like they don’t understand how Daniels is considered the best qb in the SEC and that he’s overrated.

I think LSU fans saw his inconsistencies more than the national media did last year. Throwing for under 100 yards in a college football game now a days is extremely frustrating. And he did it twice last year.

This might be because LSU fans have actually watched every game that he played in last season

Damn good.

He threw for 200 yards in a half IIRC

It was with a new coach, a new team, a new offense and LSU had a depleted roster.

This sounds good early on but I don’t know how his body can take a seasons worth of hits in the SEC only being around 200 pounds. We saw him break down by the sec championship game. Guy has wheels but hopefully we can establish a real run game. Defense having to respect him on the read option will open things up though

Is that really that surprising? LSU fans had been through the ringer for a long while with quarterbacks up until Burrow. Of course they are going to be pessimistic to believe that their QB is Heisman worthy just a few short years after Burrow.

he is the QB... he SHOULD be the leading passer.

He played great but saying he did it single handedly is retarded. If Mason taylor didnt catch the ball we lose...

Rewatched the first half of SEC Championship last week and Daniels was looking good until the ankle injury re-emerged.

UGA was able to pull away through some fluky plays like the blocked FG TD return and an INT that bounced off an LSU helmet instead of hitting ground.

His numbers from last year really don't have to improve much for them to be eye popping. Say he throws for 600 more yards, throws for 10 more TDs, and runs for 200 more yards. None of that would be considered a massive leap if he added those numbers on top of last season's. 3,500 yards passing. 27 TDs. 1,100 yards rushing. That's Heisman, first round draft pick stuff when you're doing it in the SEC.

QB’s that beat Alabama and Nick Saban usually win the Heisman, and Daniels can do it again and lead LSU to an SEC title.
