Have some friends that do it and always thought it was weird, but they have great relationships so I guess it's not to some folks

I do it. Partly as a laugh and partly because it feels weird at my age to call someone "Mom/Mother."

When I can't get them to answer to Mom or Dad..or it's loud and I need them to hear me in a crowd..no disrespect at all...

Dad goes by Randy with his grandchildren (my children/nieces) just like his mother wanted us to call her Susie. They didn’t want to be Grandma or Paw Paw. Mom is Nana. I go back and forth between Dad and Randy, depending on who/what I’m talking to or about. I call my MIL by her first name or Elah, which is what the kids call her. It’s not disrespectful, as we’re all adults now. I never would have used their first names growing up, though, unless I need to get their attention with several ‘Mom’ or ‘Dad’ around.

No.
The other day my son and I were arguing and he switched to baby talk.
“ Aw I hurt him’s feelings …. “. It was a very good thing for both of us that we were seperated by miles and that he was at his office.
If he ever speaks in that manner to me again I will go wherever he is and work him over with a baseball bat.
At my age life imprisonment isn’t that long.

All the time, just to mess with my mom. Her name is Karen. I feel obligated.
“Ok Karen, calm down”

Yeah, sure. Not a big deal.
The other responses sound like some hillbilly shite if it “wasn’t pretty”. Ha

I am 36 and never even considered calling my parents by their first names. The only older relatives I call by their first name are Aunt ____ and Uncle _____. Always with the pronoun before.

That’s a no no for Asians and automatic disownment.

Growing up in a crowded area surrounded by tons of “moms” and “dads” i have called out my parents full names to get their attention.

I've done it as a joke a few times over the decades and received a polite chuckle each time. It's always felt weird though.

Only after they were dead.

On my mom's side, we always called our grandparents by their title and first name, e.g. Pawpaw Steve.

I’m a crowded area, sure, many times.

Have you ever first-named your mom or dad?
Hell no. What kind of a-hole would do that?

100% agree.
I first name my folks all the time if I'm calling for them or something. If the kids are around, I call them grandma/grandpa though.
