No shite?
Cause I can look on Google Earth and it's there.
I can look at Wikipedia and see that there's over 400,000 people that live in Nagasaki, Japan.
I mean, with all that evidence proving it's existence today, in 2023, surely it hasn't been "wiped off the face of the Earth"....

It's fascinating to me that so many peoples fates that day and at Hiroshima were so tied to the weather.

More cloud cover here or less there and today no one would really know the name of either city.
Fukuoka was the primary target, and I didn’t look it up.

I’ve got two ties to it, one I’ve been there and two I had a Lexus that was built in the same prefecture.

the common term is "war"

newsflash:
war is hell.
war is brutal.

newsflash #2:
the option of getting together over cookies and milk, agreeing to quit killing each other and singing Kumbaya while watching the sunset had long since passed.

you are aware that things can be rebuilt, correct?

I know of a school that was completely burned to the ground back in the 80's.
yet if you look on google it's still standing and in use. Same name, same location.

with all that evidence proving it's existence in 2023, surely it hasn't been "completely burned to the ground"

The Tokyo firebombing killed an estimated 100,000 people. 60 Japanese cities were firebombed, but they didn't cause surrender and many more were slated.

The two atomic bombs saved many lives both American and Japanese by ending the war.

-you can make a reasonable argument that the Japanese committed worse acts than the Germans did but few care because they killed millions of Chinese.

on the low end, the Japanese likely killed twice as many people as the Germans did in the Holocaust.
Higher estimates would put it up around 4 or maybe even 5 times as many.

It makes you wonder, spiritually, who would pay for murdering so many innocent people. Is it the people who designed the weapon, the one who ordered its use, or the ones who dropped it? WWGS (what would God say)?

Who would pay for the thousands of Chinese murdered in Singapore? The Bataan Death March? The Philippines during its occupation by Japan? My son has lived in Japan for 6 years now & in talking to his Japanese friends, whose families were raised in the war's generation, they have nothing but respect for the U.S. Typically, in today's world, it's Americans who are anti American.

Considering that happened nearly 80 years ago. I'm terrified at what humanity could do now with a giant bomb.

It isn't America that Americans are against. It's the hijacking of America that Americans are against. Entangling us in war for profit is a perfect example.

Yet you're not terrified about political systems (almost always Marxist) that starve, imprison, and kill people by the hundreds of thousands, and millions over time?
