Definitely with a new staff, but I think the same still applies even with the same players/ coaches.
It’s extremely difficult to simulate a live game experience in the off-season. Even with veteran players it takes a few plays to get back into the feeling of playing in front of fans, the other team trying to take your head off and the overall speed of the game. Trying to do that against a good opponent is difficult enough. Trying to do it against a good opponent that has one game under their belt is extremely difficult.

Won the SEC West, which has won half the national championships in the last 20 years. That’s not arrogance; that’s a fact.
What does that have to do with 2023 and the fact that FSU is a good opponent to open with?
Even if LSU steam rolls them it doesn’t change the fact that FSU is good. It just means LSU is better. Rocket science?

Let’s not forget that FSU fans dominated the Superdome in our back yard. They will prob far outnumber us in their back yard. I like LSU to win this game but I think the spread is about right.

Their QB and ours are #2-3 in the country behind Caleb Williams. They also return a bunch of starters. If we win by 3-10 that will be great.

I see a 2011 LSU vs Oregon beat style beat down coming.

Drake Maye plays for FSU now?

I can’t wait to watch our front 7 on defense wreak havoc

I agree. Differences from last year.
New staff
New Systems
New Qb
Two Freshman tackles
Freshman TE
No Center
No Maason
No Perkins
No Speights
No depth
Atrocious Not Special Teams

Jordan Travis with Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman against our unproven corners is a big area of concern. It'll be a shootout.
Yep. It's a game of matchups, and they have the guys to attack a brand new secondary in game 1. Kind of like how a 7-6 Texas team gave the greatest tem of all-time a run with a couple great receivers in thr 2nd game of the season. Toward the end of the season it would have been a 3-4 td beating.

Did FSU have have a single quality win last year?
Us
I hate when people try to minimize what a team is. FSU fans have been doing this all offseason because they feel the media is minimizing them. Lets not do that. FSU is a good team and has a really good QB they are going to be a challenge week 1 so lets not pretend or act like this is similar to the Miami 2018 team that wasn't very good but got a lot of hype.

Gonna be a battle.
We haven't beaten FSU since '82.
We break that this year.
LSU 23 FSU 17

Not quite.
Only 9 of the las 20 have come from the West. The East has thrown in 4 more.

Not really. That kind of seemed to be his point. It doesn't matter if FSU is a good opponent, LSU is going to win handily anyway.

Have enjoyed reading the reply's.. Much different than before we played last year, or before you all played UCLA to start the season. I sense some earned respect for the matchup.
Brase yourselves for a very close game. It will be close from start to finish. Back and forth with lead changes and momentum. Neither team will run away with this game. Too much pride and talent on both side of the ball for that.
Keep in mind, it is very hard to beat LSU in New Orleans, and even though it was just by 1 point, that is still hard to do.
It is similarly hard to beat FSU in Orlando. FSU is 9-0-2 playing in Orlando. Undefeated. LSU is 3-3.
FSU has zero weaknesses on Offense. Matter of fact elite at every position except for OL but it is above average.. but elite at WR, QB, RB and TE.
On defense, FSU has an elite DL.. lead by Jared Verse who will be a top 5 pick. The other starting defensive end (Payton) was ACC rookie of the year. However, after the starters, there is a noticeable drop off along the DL, LB'ers and Safety's. If there is a weakness, it would be the back end of the defense. DL and LB'ers are great, CB's and Safetys will be hit and miss and may be exploited from time to time. Especially with formations and confusion.
This game will be another epic game, so just be prepared for a tough, hard fought game.

MAYBE ZERO WEAKNESSES FOR THE ACC.
Am I doing this right?
