Have enjoyed reading the reply's.. Much different than before we played last year, or before you all played UCLA to start the season. I sense some earned respect for the matchup.
Brase yourselves for a very close game. It will be close from start to finish. Back and forth with lead changes and momentum. Neither team will run away with this game. Too much pride and talent on both side of the ball for that.
Keep in mind, it is very hard to beat LSU in New Orleans, and even though it was just by 1 point, that is still hard to do.
It is similarly hard to beat FSU in Orlando. FSU is 9-0-2 playing in Orlando. Undefeated. LSU is 3-3.
FSU has zero weaknesses on Offense. Matter of fact elite at every position except for OL but it is above average.. but elite at WR, QB, RB and TE.
On defense, FSU has an elite DL.. lead by Jared Verse who will be a top 5 pick. The other starting defensive end (Payton) was ACC rookie of the year. However, after the starters, there is a noticeable drop off along the DL, LB'ers and Safety's. If there is a weakness, it would be the back end of the defense. DL and LB'ers are great, CB's and Safetys will be hit and miss and may be exploited from time to time. Especially with formations and confusion.
This game will be another epic game, so just be prepared for a tough, hard fought game.

"Which team has improved more since last year"
Good question! Both teams improved, but in different ways. LSU was learning a new system with a new coach and maybe even to an extent overlooked FSU looking ahead to that SEC schedule. LSU certainly got better, and maybe we even helped y'all beat Alabama... Going for 2, instead of the tie to go to OT. I am surprised Kelly didn't do that against us with our backs against the ropes. FSU also improved though. Winning our last 6 games in a row. We return one of the most veteran teams in all of college football.
"Wish this game was in Doak" #MeToo Would have loved to have been able to visit Tiger stadium instead of that throw up pool in New Orleans. Doak would have been a much better experience for you as well. We would have both been able to experience our respective schools pageantry.
"Will FSU sneak in a weak 0 game this year"? We have been looking long and hard to find a team that played Hawaii, but have been unsuccessful;-) This will be the first game for both teams again, so expect another slopy game.
We really feal we have a great shot to win the ACC this year and depending on how the season plays out, have an outside shot at a playoff spot. 11-1 and we should be in there with our SOS, but we will see. If it were a 12 team playoff this year we would BOTH be favored to get in.
Winner of this game moves into the top 4 after week 1.
When we first scheduled you guys, fresh off your National Championship season, I thought we were crazy and had no chance. Glad to make a great game last year with you all. Had a UGA fan yesterday say yall would beat us 35-10 because you won the SEC West, although he wasn't up for putting any money on that prediction.

FSU vs LSU game

Excited for the challenge of playing you guys again this season. Was at the game last year and it had to have been one of the most exciting games of the entire college football season. That was when no one thought either team could get to 10 wins.
This year we both come in with much higher expectations and a potential top 10 matchup.
The winner has a good leg up for a playoff run while the loser still has a chance to get in as well. Hopefully both teams play better on special teams as we both had missed FG's while y'all had a couple muffed punts (that resulted in no points for us).
Both teams return a stud QB and great WR's. Both teams should be able to run the ball as well. Turnovers and sacks will be key. This game could go either way.. again. The game being played in Orlando should help us out a little bit as I expect more Nole fans in the stands.
Good luck and may the best team win!!

FSU fans did show up to New Orleans but not because it was a destination trip. It was because our team was playing there.
Almost didn't go, just because it was the crap hole of New Orleans and they were having other festivities that weekend, that didn't look all that fun. Would have much rather this series been at both teams home stadium. Would have loved to have gone to Baton Rouge and Tally.
FSU had a 95/5.. at worse and 90/10 advantage over OU in fan attendance. I would assume LSU will at least sell out their allotment of tickets, but FSU fans will get the rest.
Looking forward to that game, as it look to be a top 10 matchup for next year!!

From the outside looking in, I circled 6 games that I liked this week and #1 on that list is Mississippi State LOSING to LSU.
Look guys, you are a much better team that you think RIGHT NOW. You are at HOME. You now start your SEC schedule and your team is ready to PROVE they are not the black sheep. They are HUGRY for this win. This is a MUST WIN game for Chip Kelly in terms of righting the ship.
I think it will be a blood bath and Mississippi State will drown in it!!

Agree. It was an awesome atmosphere in Nola. I was down on the fact that we are playing you guys in Orlando, but it should be fun. I enjoyed the Noles fans last weekend.
Aside what you see on some message board banter, LSU and FSU fans got along great pre-game, in-game, and post-game.
We have more in common that we have differences. Almost like extended family.

Should be a fun time. :usa: :dude:
Most of these missed tackles are forced misses and can’t just be fixed. Credit should be given to Jordan Travis for being quick and elusive.
This was the saving grace in the game. The quickness of FSU compared to the big LSU DL. Can’t coach speed.
Speed and heart blocked the PAT as well. Could have coached blocking better, but FSU was extremely fast to the point of impact.

FSU doesn't play a team that plays Hawaii next year. Our schedule is set, so it looks like neither team will get a week 0 game next year as of now.

This was actually the perfect day and time to play. Only game one. 6.8 million people tuned in. It was said to be the best game of them all (Appalachian State vs UNC was prolly better though but not bigger).
There will be even more people watching next year, due to this game being so good this year.

This game meant everything to our fans, players and coaches. We have been building for 3 years to get to this point. You guys are still in rebuild mold and still almost pulled it out. It was anyones ball game. Either team could have won that game when you get down to just 1 play.

Jared Verse was one of the biggest steals of the transfer portal. FSU got a good one, LSU wanted him too.
Verse is now leading all DE's in sacks and #6 in sacks regardless of position. He may just be a day one NFL draft pick.
Travis was able to use his legs to escape the LSU DL and a lot of roll out passes (as expected). The talented LSU WR core was also kept in check most of the night.
Agreed Nole fans were louder. Even the LSU fans around us didn't get loud all game. Except to celebrate TD's and stuff like that. FSU was getting loud when LSU had the ball, that was key.
Thank FSU’s inept DC for having us in the prevent defense all drive as well.
FSU will be 5-0 to start season and ranked in the top 15

Over time, this loss won’t look as bad.
Bye week next week then Louisville, Boston College and Wale Forest at home.
LSU can regroup and still have a decent year.

That FSU would finish last in the SEC West
I guess if you say it enough ppl will just believe it. Doesn’t make it true however.

SEC SEc Sec sec…

Running a toss play from the 2 up 7 with 1:30 left is one of the dumbest coaching decisions I've ever seen
Agreed. However it was a pretty sweet flee flicker for the 50 yard TD pass everyone forgets.
Norvell said he made a bad call and won’t call that one again.
Kelly should have went for 2.
Back from the game.. some thoughts

Ended up getting comped sky box ticket from Harrahs so went to the game. A few observations.
1. I was very impressed with the talent of the LSU ladies Pre game. Wow
2. Enjoyed talking with the LSU fans before, during and after the game. I saw no issues with anyone in any part of the Stadium and City. We all got along very well.
3. LSU fans would all predict a win… big win.. and confident in that prediction. I tried to warm them that we would be ready and it will be a very close game that could go either way in the finals minutes/seconds.
4. The game on week zero helped us focus on special teams leading up to this game. We had a few issues to clean up.
5. This was the best game of the college football weekend and the entire Nation is talking about it.
6. The crowd was 55/45 LSU. FSU fans were louder though and the team winning helped with that as well.
7. LSU almost pulled the rabbit out of the hat with that last second TD. Was happy to see LSU lined up for the extra point. Had a weird feeling he was going to miss it. What. An. Ending.
8. Can’t wait to run it back next year in Orlando.
