So which ones support signing constitutional carry next spring?
Posted on 7/6/23 at 1:46 pm to Indefatigable
The democrat is going to be in the runoff automatically because their party knows how to handle their business. They have 40% of the vote sewn up and they force out any competition between candidates. Their voters would literally vote for Satan as long as he has a 'D' behind his name. Republicans meanwhile sulk if their guy doesn't win and decide that not only are they not going to vote, they are going to talk as much S**t about the nominee as they can up until the election. Then they are going to talk about how stupid the people in this state are for electing an idiot for the next four years and do it all over again.

All the R’s, even Wag. He might not champion it, but he certainly won’t veto.
Don’t know about Lundy.
Wilson will veto like Edwards.

Ummmm who was it that elected a 2 term Democrat just because he's a good catholic man? Certainly wasn't all the Baptists in north Louisiana.

And because "their guy" didn't get the GOP nomination, Edwards won re-election. I'm not saying Rispone was a good candidate, but in a solid red state like Louisiana, it's pretty embarrassing to have to suffer through Democrat governors because a segment of the state is petty.

Very sad reality. And there are plenty of posters here who legitimately believe Landry is the best candidate because he’s “America First”
I do have to give Landry some credit, though, for being the only Louisiana republican who was vocally against Covid lockdowns from the jump and filed law suit after law suit to try and stop them. He wasn't successful, but he was a lone voice in the wilderness for a long time on that issue.

I don't recall much of Abraham campaigning down here. AP has to be a top 10 if not top 5 parish for voter turnout and usually is close to 50/50 Rep/Dem.

The rural South Louisiana Edwin Edwards Democrats who vote Republican in national elections (love them some Trump these days), but would certainly pull the lever for a good ole boy white, social conservative, pro tax the “rich” male Democrat for any state or local election.
Those types won’t pull the lever for Shawn Wilson, though. Guaranteed.

Has there ever been an (I) that voted with conservatives?
I switched to Independent a few years ago, despite having been a Republican since I registered in 1988.
As of now, Republicans are largely worthless as a party. My positions haven't changed...my blind loyalty to that shitty party has. Hiding behind that (R) is how too many Louisiana politicians have gotten elected and then voted the opposite.

I believe Nelson would do a good job but it doesn't look like he has a chance.
I agree about Nelson. He's probably the most intriguing candidate on that list, for me. Unfortunately, he has no chance of winning.
I really don't want Landry, but I would certainly vote for him over any random D.
Our state government is so completely f'd up. I think we need a true outsider/reformer to come in and make a genuine run at trying to fix the core issues.

I think he would make a great King, but in a democratic process where you have to compromise and build consensus I think he'd fail miserably, mainly because nobody who has ever had to work with him likes him.

It's the south of I-10 Catholic "Republicans" that voted Honor chose in. The legislature's RINOs almost all come from Cajun country.

F this state for putting Landry in the post. He’s incompetent and probably the worst candidate with a R behind his name in capability.

Really wish Hewitt would do a better job getting her message out. She seems like someone with promise.

Dems are lying in wait to drop a load of oppo on Landry in the run-off. It will be relentless and it’s how Shawn wins.
