I do think she did a good amount of heavy lifting on the menu.
But, I think she realized she was weak at the end of episode 10 when she wasn’t even happy that everyone loved the food.
She couldn’t handle it and had to let Richie take over. Granted, she had some cover as they absolutely needed another chef on the line with Carmy and the crackhead not available, but she dropped the ball and she knows it.

I enjoyed this season way more than season 1
Forks may have been one of my favorite episodes of tv in a long time . It put me in such a great mood seeing Richie come in to his own and enjoy the process . Just masterful.

Just finished season 2. It was incredible, I want another 10 episodes now. It’s gonna be a long wait for season 3.
I hope Carmy and Claire find a way to work it out. They’re great together.

Halfway through Season 2.
I couldn't believe how happy I was when Carmy kissed Claire (who is an absolute dime).
The episode in Copenhagen was excellent. This show is just such a great burn.

I think this is the best show on tv. It’s hard to describe how well done it is and how thoughtful. The amount of personal growth from some characters this year was really great to watch.
I’m not sure I’ve ever been more stressed than in the Christmas episode.

Richie's growth this season was my favorite storyline. He crushed it. His stage episode was great.

One thing that cracked me up was knowing that Matty Matheson is an extremely successful chef and an exec producer, and playing the goofball character he is, in the last Ep when he said “I’m front of house now” all proudly, that just made me laugh out loud

I think they have too. This seems like a quintessential trilogy.
Season 1 - Main character starts adrift and by end of the season finds purpose and direction. (Taking over a restaurant and by the end having a plan to make that restaurant exactly what he wants it to be.)
Season 2 - Due to purpose and direction main character experiences personal growth. That personal growth though comes at the expense of how he had previously viewed himself. (From being only a chef and good for nothing else, to finding he has a role in his family (extended and otherwise) and a potential mate that isn't put off by who he is at his core, because she sees him for who he truly is; but choosing to pursue that growth cost him the status and vision of himself as a chef literally (locked in the cooler) and figuratively (no control over the details)).
Season 3 - Main character learns balance - how to be who is called to be (a chef) balanced against who he wants to be (more connected to the world outside of the kitchen - particularly through a potential mate and his relationship with his sister and pseudobrother).
So I look forward to season 3 and would not be okay this being the series finale as another poster mentioned, as I think Carmy (and us by extension as the audience) deserve to see that growth pay off beyond the hopefully temporary stumbling block of the season 2 finale.

Agreed. I think this sets up perfectly for a final 3rd season. Ends with them getting a star

I said this back in Season 1 but yeah as much as I love this show, it’s definitely a 3 or 4 season kind of show. No more. Maybe things go to absolute hell in Season 3 and the redemption is in Season 4 and they cap it off by getting a star and Carmy finds that balance

Just started watching the first season a few days ago. Up through episode 6 season 1 and trying to figure out why Cousin Ritchie hasn't been fired. Obviously, per this thread he has a good arc, but if I was Carmy, I would have fired his arse from the get go as he is a distraction and destructive. He's a great actor because I completely hate him at this point.

This show isn’t about the restaurant industry.
This show is about family and addiction, but more than anything mental health.
It handles these issues so well. It shows the character’s weaknesses and vulnerabilities. It also explores the roots of these issues.
I’ve really enjoyed watching this show. Hoping for a happy ending with Carmy and Clare, Syndie and Marcus, Sugar, and Richie. But the show is painfully real, so I’m not sure I’ll get that.

My last 2 shows I watched was the bear and winning time on HBO. It’s hard to ask for anything better than these 2.

I will say the Bear looks like a boring place to eat ... something about it was off. Not sure if by design of the writers or just boring production design.

That’s a VERY small budget for a buildout of a high end place. Places often spend millions on their space.
So not sure it was intentional but I thought the build out was in line with the budget
