re: Lane Kiffin's best class at Ole Miss vs his first (so far) at LSU
Posted by wbeagle03 on 12/6/25 at 4:07 am to Tigers4Lyfe
I think this is a forest for the trees comment.
The fact that he didn’t really recruit this class is the point. Essentially how hard he recruiting at OM vs how little he could recruit at LSU and the outcome is an indication that LSU is a force multiplier.
Time X effort X OM= outcome v
Time X effort X LSU= outcome
Whole season X max effort X OM=23
1 week X Divide attention X LSU = 13
LSU is a force multiplier. So what will it be when it’s
Whole season X max effort X LSU ?

...the formula multiplied private school enrollment by 1.5, causing many to be placed in a higher GHSA classification.
Definitely interesting concept, but how would that work with the single sex schools?
Would it be effectively enrollmentx2x1.5?
So 300 students at a single sex school would become 900?
300x2=600x1.5=900 (4A school)
Or would it be enrollmentx2 + enrollmentx1.5
So, 300 students at a single sex school would become 1050?
300x2=600 + 300x1.5 = 450 = 1050 (5a school)
I think common sense would say option 1 (enrollment x 2 x 1.5), but I put nothing past our state to find the wonkiest way to do it, especially if it forces schools to play even higher.

The problem I see with the epicurean paradox is that it assumes that free will is the end all be all of God’s design.
In my experience/belief/faith God’s greatest gift to us was not our free will - that was merely a consequence of the gift.
The gift actually is desire. God gave us the ability to desire Him, things, people, feelings etc. because we have desires by their very nature are above and beyond needs and therefore subject to prioritization. We can pursue our desires even when they directly contradict our needs. And pursuit is driven only by the necessity to choose.
The story of why God created man - He wanted beings that loved Him because they pursued Him beyond compliance but out of want.
So yes He could have built a universe that free will did not include sin but since He wanted a world that people would “choose” to desire Him He had to create a world where “choosing” other desires (i.e. sins) was also possible.
So to revisit your chart:
1. why does He allow Satan to exists because He wants us to choose Him over a real alternative.
2. Why would He still allow us to be tested? Because it’s not truly an expression of real desire if there isn’t a real opportunity to reject Him. Test aren’t for His edification it is for ours.
Because as a truly omniscient and omnipotent being He understand the formula for the world in a way this “paradox” refuses to accept. It looks micro and an individual’s failure on one test may become necessary for success in more significant situations.
3. Could he have created a world with free choice with out evil: sure but in order to achieve the goal of creating a being that is free to align their desires with Him there has to be a lesser or opposing force they could align with instead

If we did it, I think it would need to a confidence pool:
Current open jobs (10):
a. Auburn
b. Arkansas
c. Florida
d. LSU
e. Penn State
f. Stanford
g. UCLA
h. Virginia Tech
i. Oklahoma State
j. Oregon State.
Pick your coach and assign a confidence score (1-10).
Correct picks get 5 points + assigned confidence score. Person with the most points when the last hire for these ten are made wins the pot.

My favorite memory is when my youngest was 2 and I was pulling him in a wagon to help keep up with his 8-year-old cousins and 5-year-old brother. We are about halfway through the neighborhood and pull up to a house with two teenagers manning the candy bowl; both were dressed as skeletons but in those full-body suits that block out your face so all you can really see is the painted-on skeleton bones. Well as I turn to walk up the sidewalk to bring my boy to get his candy he sees the skeletons and looks at me and says "no". Just like that no excitement, no fear, just a flat plain "no". Had to wave the kids off and to the kids credit they pulled down the face covering to help him feel safer and he looked me dead in my eyes and just shook his head. I love halloween for that memory because it was the first real sign of his definitiveness in his personality. No I will not be doing that.

Orange should be a primary color
And just Call it the Orange Great Room

They should use orange as a primary color within the room and then just call it "The Orange Room"
Anyone interested and knows more can totally correct this but to my understanding there are few things in play with with an illegal formation penalty.
Essentially, at most offenses can have up to 5 people eligible to receive a forward pass on any one play: anyone in the backfield and the last person on the line of scrimmage on either side. So formations are required to “declare” who the eligible receivers are to provide an opportunity for the defense to match up.

I could buy this but to me the most damning piece of evidence against Lacy would have been the driver of the trucks statement but on video his near exact quote is “the lady behind me caused that accident”
So why keep spouting a line of what he did that doesn’t agree with what he is on camera saying what he did?

For some, it may be, but the couples who run it have survived, and as cliche as it may be to say, they have thrived. One of the presenting couples attended in the 90s and are still together, so for some it may be a band-aid, for others it is the triage that saves their relationship!

If you are open to trying something, try this. It works. New Orleans has a weekend coming up in two weeks, so you wouldn't even have to wait. They include options when registering for partners to stay in separate beds or even separate rooms. Don't have to publicly share what is going on in your marriage and be with other couples struggling. I can't recommend this enough, if you are willing to try something, try this!

Something I just realized that contributes to this that I haven’t seen discussed - how did Burt know where Irving lived? Someone had to tell him, yes?
Why isn’t Irvin asking how Burt found him anyway?
Lends more evidence to the idea that Burt knows and/or has access to more information than we could initially believe.
The firing may just be a cover.
***possible*** truth.
Burt really did retire. Was really happy and so was his husband.
OTC Irv shows up - wtf for them.
Burt contacts lumen and told get irv out of his house either because Burt is more connected or they promised him something in return.

I didn’t read it as she was frustrated with the coach. More she was bitching about the officials. The other coach was nodding her head when I saw the interaction. Could see both coaches filing disagreement over the officiating. It was shite on both sides.
The Pacman episode was a wild take - but I was there for it.
The Megaman premise should be a whole series - I would immediately enter mandatory premier watching. I don't want to say more because of spoilers, but seriously it was fricking awesome.

But from what I heard Shaw’s enrollment is going up because they’re winning again. Knowing the history someone is probably getting a deal and no one’s revolting
To be fair the enrollment increase does have a correlation with winning - Hank in his post conference said as much and that they expect it to increase more with the championship. However, I would say that the bulk of the change has more to do with a change in leadership. There is a new priest running the school (the one willing to hire Hank back) and his personal attention and dedicated efforts to the culture of the school (I think) is a bigger determining factor.
Having someone come in and knows what it means to be the “Westbank” school and not just an archdiocesan school matters a ton in that community. And I think that is the foundation upon which all the rest of the success is coming from.
Seriously, if you think Hank has a following in that community go talk to the parents and students about what they think of that priest it’s astounding how much people are buying into his vision and desire for the school.
