Driving lifted trucks through mud seems like a waste of money to me, but people really love it and do it. Have you tried letting people do what they want with their time and money? You waste yours on TigerDroppings, they waste theirs on amusements rides and experiences.

There are these people I run into every once in a while who do this. I guess if you live in Florida and buy the year pass and have kids maybe?
I do not plan on going again until I one day have grandkids.

Sounds like a fixation, some people have them and apparently its normal.
We all have some fixation.

Who cares, there’s a ton more people who’s happiest is dependent on the way some college kids play sports ball against other college kids. Spend way more on traveling and following them than the Disney adults.

Probably some type of childhood yearning. Everyone has some type of mental hang ups and while the Disney Adult does seem odd there are certainly worse issues to be dealing with.

3-4 times a year?
I've gone about once a decade, and that is still far too often.

Yep, we all have our own. Some people are in the same bars every week, same lake every saturday..

I think this is valid. The only caveat is that traditionally off roading is an adult activity by adults tailored to adults. Disney, although perhaps changing, has always focused on entertainment that is traditionally in subjects interesting to children. Sure, Harry Potter developed a weird adult following, but it's a YA thing.
At root they're both "fun" so I get that, but I don't blame people who think it's a bit odd for adults to have core hobbies/interests that 25-30 years ago would be entirely the stuff of children.

Sounds like my man is living his best life.
I am too, although I prefer beaches and state parks.

I'm sure some people say the same things about folks who, come September, will venture out into the 100° swamp arse weather with ~80,000 sweaty rednecks to watch a bunch of hired gun teenagers they don't know play a game for three and half hours. They'll probably say something about those people paying increasingly more money every single year, while getting an arguably worse experience with the passing of each season. They'll then probably mention how those folks are being held hostage for tailgating, being forced to pay for that pleasure and having their options chiseled away as time goes on. Then, they may even poke fun at them for donating when their chosen college calls begging, despite the money they've already dumped into the program. Don't even get them started on the new frontier of NIL collectives begging money in exchange for some semblance of connection to the random teenagers who signed up to play for the highest bidder and have no real interest or care in the school.
See......you can make anyone's hobby sound ridiculous. As long as people are responsible and not taking food off of their own tables to persue said hobby, or that hobby isn't some nefarious pursuit, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

Let people do what they want. It's a real place with real culture, rituals, customs, etc. People get into it. Some people go to football games and tailgate and spend thousands of dollars 7-8 times a year. We don't question that. Some have season tickets to Major League baseball games or want to hit every stadium. Good for them. Some people go out to bars and drink the same thing every single weekend. That seems boring to me and I don't understand it, but that's their choice.
Going to Disney World over and over again isn't my cup of tea. I'd do it for my kids once in a while, but I wouldn't personally choose to go there. But, if that's what people like, let them do it. Who cares?
There are worse things that they could be doing. She is probably a relatively pleasant and happy person. We could use more of that.

Is this some kind of mental disorder needing to be diagnosed?
no more so than being bothered by what another person does with their earnings. the world would be a lot better if people minded their own fricking business about shite that doesn't pertain to or affect them.

Disney is awesome for some people. A clean amusement park with incredible decorations, good restaurant options, nice hotels, great transportation, etc. Fun rides and good entertainment shows. Epcot has festivals with appetizers and drinks from all over the world.
Disney is not marketed towards kids only. In fact, if you want to go with your wife for an adult trip, it can be a blast. Walk around and sample different foods and beers or cocktails. Try a different restaurant in a different park each night. Ride a rollercoaster together and laugh and have fun.
If you don't want to go sit on the beach or sit in the mountains, why not enjoy Disney? Some people like the beach, others do not. To each their own.

But spending $20k/year on travel ball is cool.
And spending $20k/year plus $15k on a go kart for it... cool.
edited to add: spend $20k/year on football tickets, AND buy a $250k motor home or condo just for a few weekends of use.
And so on.
People spend money on stuff they like. A Disney annual pass isn't that expensive if you use it.

Just want to point out the OP likely knows the person is going to Disney because they told them. They made it other peoples business, likely wanting affirmation. People shouldn’t be surprised when they get negative feedback any more than they should be surprised they get the affirmation or whatever the seek.
