Star Trek movie fans - your favorite and least favorite?

I never was a big fan of the original TV show, I was a fan of TNG, and didn’t watch any other spin offs (DS9, etc).
That being said, I like most of the movies.
ST4- Voyage Home is the worst movie, I don’t think anyone will argue that.
As for the rest, there have been some great movies.
Wrath of Khan is the best of all of them (IMO). I think if WoK would have flopped like the first movie, the ST franchise would have died, and we would have never heard from them again.
I really like the first two revamps. The story line did well with the massive ship time jumping back to the birth of JT Kirk, and following his timeline. It touched on things like how Jim would sleep with anything (him hitting the green chick at the academy), to him cheating the Kobayashi Maru (that was discussed in ST3).
I was a little disappointed in the mannerism of Khan in the revamp. In both the movie and original show, Khan was a bad arse mofo. He wouldn’t have sat back and played mind games.
My favorite TNG movie is Generations (the death of Kirk).
Speaking of “Generations”, when people think of captains of the Enterprise, they think Kirk (Shatner, Pine) and Picard (Stewart), but many forget that Alan Ruck was the Captain for sometime

ST4 is universally liked. It's Star Trek 5 where "God" steals a spaceship that is the most bashed and hated movie in the Trekkie world, until you get to Nemesis which was also dog poop.

Wrath of Khan is one of the best Sci Fi movies of all time.

The JJ Abrams revamp sucked and did more harm to the timeline than good. The first was a decent and entertaining standalone movie, but was horrible in terms of Trek. Spock being an emotional bitch was a slap in the face to every Trekkie.

That was the beginning of Wrath of Khan, when they were giving the test to Kiristie(spelling?) Allen's character.

Do yourself a favor and watch DS9.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I really like DS9.
Might be recency bias as it is probably the last I have watched.
Wrath Khan was the tits.
Generally love most of them. Agree that 4 was not for me....that is the one with damn whale in outer space, correct?
Another poster mentioned 5 where God steals a spaceship? How the ef did I miss that? What is it called?

Best is Wrath of Khan, followed by First Contact and Undiscovered Country.
Voyage Home is fun and I thought enjoyed by all fans.
I used to think V was the worst one, until the revamp movies. They are awful. Strange New Worlds is 10x better in every way, if you want to revisit that time period.

I’m not a big Trekkie but I did watch TNG with my old man. Since that’s the series I’m most familiar with, my favorite was always First Contact.

This.
It seems a lot of people avoided DS9 because it didn't have the "look" or "feel" of TNG or TOS. My theory has always been that it was due to DS9 having a darker theme and the stories had to come to the station/Bajor instead of the prior series' vehicle of traveling to the stories ("Wagon Train to the stars").
The darker theme point is interesting when compared to TNG's Borg storyline. The Borg was a HUGELY popular story (it became part of the zeitgeist when TNG was still in active production) and was every bit as dark (if not darker) than DS9.
And "In the Pale Moonlight"?

I loved the first ST movie. You need to understand, those of us who had grown up with TOS had had nothing except a cartoon for years.
Finally, Star Trek: The Motion Picture returns us to the ST universe. It was great, even though "Vee-Juh" as pronounced by Persis Khambatta was really "Vee-Jer" in rhotic English, and thus would have given it away to anyone familiar with space stuff, we had a return of all our familiar characters. Nice.
The woke ST Beyond was the worst.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
A quote from the movie:
Kirk : [to "God"] Excuse me... Excuse me... I just wanted to ask a question. What does God need with a starship

Will definitely argue that. Of the ones I’ve seen 2, 6, 3 and 4 were all good. 5 was awful never saw ST: TMP. The first 2 TNG ones were meh. I refuse to watch the reboots

Huh?
You must’ve meant Star Trek V - it’s dreadful.
The Voyage Home is a classic, funny and emotional - and has the best, most amazing, score of the franchise.

The Best, in Order:
Wrath of Khan
Search for Spock
Voyage Home
The worst:
Probably the first!
Then The Final Frontier

Undiscovered Country is my favorite because I saw it in theaters when it came out and I still love how it totally feels like a late 80's/early 90's film.
It still holds up to this day

I think everyone will argue with that.
Spock himself directed it.

grew up watching TNG, so I like First Contact. I know the rest of the TNG movies aren't great, but I have a blindspot for them.
Final Frontier probably the worst.
I don't acknowledge the JJ movies. those are more like the Fast & the Furious than star trek.
