You and the others don’t know much about Desantis or really anyone else for that matter. And don’t particularly even care to. The A1 objective at this stage in time is to trash Trump as much as humanly possible. Doesn’t much matter what happens after that - whether Desantis does this or that, or even whether a Democrat wins the Presidency. The most up front and open evidence of that is the 5:1 ratio of anti-Trump posts to pro-Desantis posts.
I figured we should leave that anti-Republican work to the left, but apparently not. This isn’t to personally bash you, but rather a general observation.

He already did that when he decided to run a shadow campaign against Trump.

Well reasoned post. I want a chance to win and I know Trump can't. We know what will happen.
People say DeSantis, Scott or anyone else won't win either, but until it starts we do not know. Trump lost to the worst candidate in history, badly. That should disqualify him right there.

Trump's at an age that if he were your father or grandfather, you'd seriously start thinking about taking away his car keys. He'll be 78 years old on inauguration day in 2025.
Nah some 78 year olds are put together way better than others. Just look at Trump circa 2023 vs Biden. Not even remotely comparable. Even going by them at the same age…not even close. Trump seems to have lived a fairly clean lifestyle as far as substances like smoking/drinking and such. Probably goes a long way to paying dividends later on life.

That's what he SHOULD do in Florida, but he should make it clear in the primary that he would NOT do the same at the Federal level.

What do YOU want him to do with this bill?
Or are you just waiting to see what he does so you can declare after the fact that it was the greatest possible choice ever, no matter what it is?

Legislature is putting him in a shitty situation. It does hurt him a lot.

I get the concern R's have nationally, but I'd like for him to sign it

This is a losing issue for any politician trying for broad appeal. Nobody is changing anyone's mind on the issue and the nation is very evenly divided on it. Does he have a mechanism to let it become law without signing? Might be his best option.
What is crazy is the pro abortion crowd made this law possible when they challenged the Mississippi law of 15 weeks...

Getting along with someone on a personal level is not the same as being part of the swamp. It’s part of being able to make deals.

It's the way it's done. You cater to the base in the primaries, then shift to centrism in the general. It's been the winning national election formula for decades.

I love Trump cultists trying to explain this away
We know it's because Trump is a sucker for anyone that says anything nice about him

Therein lies the most misleading and misguided assertion of the entire election maybe. That’s not to offend you personally at all. But it’s so important that we would correct the record on this because it very well may be cause to revise whole viewpoints.
You should not look to Biden the President post-election. To get the best analysis of the matter you must consider the Biden leading up to the election and I guess election day itself. Biden voters did not knowingly prefer to vote for mush-for-brains over there because they were that insistent on Trump not getting their vote. What they voted for, the bill of goods they were sold, was by all accounts still a mentality capable master of foreign affairs, old uncle Joe, voters were told he would dutifully restore our respect and stature on the world stage, he would govern from the center and heal the country, bring everyone back together regardless of political affiliation. That he would be the adult back in the room.
All that above is what voters thought they were voting for, not this manipulative propaganda created post-election about how folks were more willing to vote for this mess we have now than Trump, under any circumstances. Of course his voters were blatantly lied to, but that doesn’t change the scenario on the ground as of that election day.
When one thinks about this, it should possibly change their entire mindset as to the claim that voters would rather vote the current dingleberry over Trump. I believe that’s a gigantic mistake that has led many people astray. Sorry for the long post, good peoples.

What’s Trump’s stance on abortion?
IDK.
My guess is that he would say, "I handled my end by getting Roe out of the way, the rest is up to you and your state."
