Thank you GOPE and Dems.
You read that right.

The nation’s mass immigration policy, giving green cards to roughly a million foreign nationals and temporary work visas to another 1.4 million foreign nationals, is driving 80 percent of all population growth, new analysis details.
Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) shows the scope to which legal immigration to the U.S. is fueling nearly all population growth where the resident population hit 333.3 million in 2022 — the highest in American history.
“… [N]et international migration of 1.01 million accounted for roughly 80 percent of U.S. population growth in 2022,” CIS researchers Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler write:

… [I]mmigration is the primary factor driving U.S. population growth. The net migration of immigrants plus births to immigrants once here accounted for roughly two-thirds to three-fourths of U.S. population growth over the last two decades. [Emphasis added]

Rome will fall, give it another 20 years. What do people think this country will look like in 20 years? lol. Ideally live somewhere remote when things start popping, or go buy some land overseas and fly your family there when you see the writing on the wall. Plenty of houses and apartments for sale in Ireland right now.

Immigration is great and is one of the reasons why America is the greatest country on Earth.
Just make sure that immigrants integrate/assimilate.

It will never happen. But all immigration needs to halt for at least 10-20 years. Needs to completely stop.
Let this country figure out its issues and decide how we want to assimilate new immigrants in the future.
When a couple is going through marriage trouble, they don't start adopting new kids to save it.

Serious question: How many kids did you have?
Native born European Americans have been reducing the size of their families for 40+ years to the point that we don't even reach replacement rate....and we are waiting longer to have the kids we have. The immigrants provide the difference.

These numbers don’t account for illegals. This is legal immigration - the kind we like. Legal immigration brings in skilled workers who are more likely to be valuable citizens. I know many green cards and work visas and they’re very good people usually in skilled fields. Often very happy to be in the US and very positive about the US and patriotism
You’re throwing everyone in the same basket. Illegal immigration is the kind that brings drugs, violence, and poverty. Normally illegal immigration is a net negative

Legal immigration is good for the country and the morally correct policy. As long as the U.S. birthright remains below 2.1 children per couple, we need more law abiding and hard working immigrants. I dare say, most of our families are here due to immigration.

Replacement immigration for breeding American culture from society.

You’ve uncovered one of the driving forces for illegal immigration. We are approaching negative population growth in the United States on an organic basis. To keep driving the economic machine forward, we need more consumers. We aren’t producing consumers by births.

Boomers were the last generation to approach the proper birth rate to supply society with the necessary people to keep society functioning without mass immigration. I think I read Gen X through Gen Z are averaging under 1.5 children for a married couple.

the numbers in your article are only the legal green card holders?
Filipina nurses
India programmers.
green cards are to steal the educated smart ones.
I doubt this scares anyone.
its the uneducated masses that are illegal and worrisome.

We need a moratorium on immigration of all types for the next 5 years. We need to get this place in order

Not going anywhere... BUT the fact that we want to kill our future and import people is about as stupid as can be.
Remember when Trump promised to suspend (legal) immigration in 2020 and then buckled under pressure from business and didn't?
“It would be wrong and unjust for Americans laid off by the virus to be replaced with new immigrants, labor flown in from abroad,” Trump said at the daily White House briefing, nodding to the 22 million Americans who have filed for unemployment in recent weeks. “We must first take care of the American worker, take care of the American worker.”
On Tuesday, he unveiled his plan. It was far short of a full ban.
The move angered conservatives who were hoping the president would go further. The Trump administration has already paused most routine visa processing and refugee cases during the coronavirus pandemic, meaning the president’s executive order may be redundant for many already-stalled cases. Moreover, a majority of immigrants seeking green cards are already living in the U.S.
Soon after Trump finished speaking, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who occasionally advises the president, blasted the effort, saying Trump “failed” to protect American jobs.
Conservatives have been pushing Trump for weeks to stop allowing temporary foreign workers into the United States during the pandemic. But so far, the president has sided with business leaders who argue immigrant workers are still needed, even with so many Americans out of work, to preserve the food supply and keep other industries staffed.
