How do they rob me in the back? Steal my wallet?
Old school wallet (big rubber band) in your front pocket next to your Johnson. Pretty hard to steal with that kind of alert system in place.

You're supposed to call NOPD and wait 1.5 hours

This is simply not true. I hardly can go an hour without wanting to shoot someone.

roll them over and shoot 2 more times from the front and then say he spun around after the first 2 shots as you were firing at him

The world would be a better place if this was legal, but sadly, it's not.

In urban shitholes, that type of shooting will get you prosecuted.
I most other places, the DA wouldn't even press charges.
Where I live, you would probably get a pat on the back.

Youre supposed to expect the 5 strangers around you to do your dirty work

Just say when you started shooting he was facing you and turned around to run and that is when the first bullet landed.

The problem here is that society in NOLA favors the guy you just shot. They'll also be on the jury.

Problem is, these days, while you are being robbed, there are 17 pieces of useless shite videoing and livestreaming the event.

If you shoot someone in the back, you are going to do some time.

In NO youre in trouble. In Dallas you would be good to go, just be sure to say you thought they would come back and were "in fear for your life". Better yet say nothing until your USCCA attorney gets there.

Say you're cocky in New Orleans and a guy robs you on the corner of St Charles and MLK at hun point. He turns around to run and you pull out a pocket .380 and do society a favor and put 4 rounds in between the thief's shoulder blades?
You have to prove you feared for your life, and in NOLA you're going to have a prosecutor that will do all he can to show you shooting the person in the back meant the situation was over.

I'd say nothing to the police at the scene. Hire a lawyer and go to court if necessary.
Option 1: say the suspect was running towards another potential victim. Assuming no surveillance cameras were found.
If there are cameras:
Option 2: say he stole access to your home and you feared for your family's life.
I'm in Texas, land of the shooting dumbasses who do this. But I would apply the same even in Texas.

You shout at him and get him to turn around then shoot him in the front.

Talked to a cop in Memphis one time after our house got broken into.
HE told me if I ever have a situation where somebody is trying to break into my car, house, or anything else, shoot them and kill them outside.
Then go to your car, warm up the engine, and call the cops.
Once they arrive tell them you had been at the shooting range, pulled up, and they tried to jump you.
