You really think he had to live in Nola?

Yep can’t blame him. Any sane person would choose Denver over the Dastroya’s chocolate city.

Murder
NOLA - 54 per 100,000
Denver - 14 per 100,000

that's a 72% drop in Violent crime.

Not to mention a quick weekend getaway to Aspen is a little nicer than a B&B in St Francisville.

Between the season, OTAs, camp, scouting and draft prep three no way to avoid living at least 250 days in Louisiana unless the team moves.

Yes, he had to live there and that’s why he left.

Denver is not better, it’s just safer. I’ve been tons of time in both city’s. Everywhere is safer than New Orleans but not many places are more enjoyable.

Everyone assumes losing his HOF quarterback was why Payton “abandoned” the Saints. But really it was the steady downward spiral of the city since the Katrina recovery years that pushed Sean Payton away.

One thing you left out was Sean was upset that LSU did take an assistant coach (Joe Brady) away from Payton. That was the turning point of the Saints downfall.

Why can't people get it through their heads that maybe he just needed a break for a while and wanted to coach in a different environment. Not hating the Saints or City, not losing faith in ownership of management. He just wanted to do something different?

Could it be that simple? Take off you feelings and consider it for a moment.

I'm in my mid 50's and have worked in the same field for 7 different companies. Never been fired once, just changed jobs for a variety of reasons none of which were because I hated where I was or lost faith in where I was. Some people can sit in the same seat and move the same widget down the line for a whole career and be happy, some people want to experience as much as they can in what they do.

Because it's very odd. Has Tomlin needed a year off? What about BB? shite, Payton already had a year off with his suspension. You'd think he'd be the most rested and rejuvenated of the 3. But he was the one that was constantly rumored that he was trying to get out of here. Why? He had support, power, and was basically untouchable here. Why leave that? If it wasn't the city my only other theory is we just didn't want to pay him $20 m a year but even that would shock me

What you find attractive is not what everyone finds attractive.

He coached here 15 years, taking a year off aside, maybe he wanted something different.

Like I said, some people are content to sit in the same chair from the day they start to the day they retire but not everyone is just content.

Payton was all for the Covid shut downs of the city and tourism.

He was in the “if it saves one life camp.”

What did he think would happen to a tourist town with poor residents and no Fortune 500 companies (except for one that has its main transformers fall into the river when a hurricane passes through).

The dude banging meghan payton is a weirdo. Is he missing his shoe laces?

Payton's new wife looks like a huge gold digger.

Where did he meet her?

That’s not 100% accurate. Remember all the stuff about moving to LSU for home games cause LaToya was adamant about 3500 fans, and over the top about COVID rules? Yeah fun times.

What is it with the Payton defenders?

Can't I as a fan of the, hold on, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, just not like him because he left in a shitty way, needing to retire, but selling himself week one for a job, not leaving atlest a viable project at Quarterback, in cap hell.

It can't be a football reason that we don't like him right?

Actually it's his fricking character I don't like, in addition to a pill popper, he signed a contract he didn't honor and because he got a better job offer but he tried to feed the fans with a bullshite story about retiring.

Hope his new little wife doesn't need a man with balls because he has none
