This never used to happen. And now it doesn’t always happen. And it doesn’t happen when I’m a passenger. But the last 6 months I’ve noticed a real odd feeling sometimes when driving up big bridges. Feels a bit like I’m flying off into space and I feel kinda dizzy.

Anyone else ever feel that

I get it when I first drive into mountains or highly hilly areas. Like my brain is having to adjust for a lack of horizon.

Maybe the same thing?

It is getting worse with age.

Talk to your doctor. They can give you a small dose of Xanax to take for those times.

I got vertigo like stuff the second time I had Covid. That is some wild shite when your head spins and you hit the floor

Not sure why you would get it over a bridge tho

I’ve heard 3 friends say they all of a sudden developed anxiety over bridges, so bad they would freak out or physically couldn’t cross. Not sure if this is related to vertigo, but if it is, see a psychiatrist and talk. If it’s affecting your life, you may get on meds.

Have the same thing terribly, impacting where I drive...can't handle the acceleration up bridges that are elevated...flat bridges like Natchez and west on Memphis no issue

When I was in middle school my mother started feeling like this. It started with bridges and got worse and worse until she eventually was scared to leave the house. She got therapy for it and has been fine for years now. I'm not saying this will happen to you but if it starts getting worse you need to see somebody. Easier to deal with it in the beginning before it gets really bad,

I occasionally will be behind a driver in the right lane and as we approach a bridge, they will move over to the left lane even if it means holding up faster moving traffic. As soon as they cross the bridge, they will ease back over to the right lane.
Wonder if this might be related to the uneasiness you describe?

Anxiety broseph. No rhyme or reason to it, it just happens. Happened to me driving over the causeway once and almost passed out. I’d driven over the causeway hundreds of times, then once day it just happened.

I feel like true vertigo when driving would end in disaster.

I've made dozens of drives across the Mississippi and never gave it a second thought. For some reason any drive across the bridge into destin is 100% white knuckle. some things in this world don't make sense

For some reason I had a drive from Utah to Baton Rouge recently and odd spot in the Colorado Rockies hit me funny and a spot in Texas near a concrete embankment got me bad.
I couldn’t understand it

Never in reality, but it is a common them in my dreams. Going up highway bridges, way to high, way too steep. Often off of an edge. Going down a huge bridge, super steep, is a less frequent theme, but when that one comes the brakes are never working enough, and the car usually comes off the road because it's so steep. I usually have to take control of the dream at some point because it gets too stressful as it heads toward a point of likely death. Typically I get to some water, splash down and carry on peacefully.

Anxiety and it is a bitch - it got me good.

Simplify your life and get out of debt - fix or maintain good relationships with family and close friends.

It ain’t no joke - It hit me in the Mobile tunnel a couple years ago….no reason.

Straight bridges don't bother me it's when there is a turn on a bridge that gets me... Like getting on the I-310 from Airline going East (completely shitty design).. Or coming down the CCC to the West Bank.. Kind of feels like the car is going to tip over.. Very uneasy feeling..
