Cops love to rock n roll. The Canadian trucker experience should prove that to you. You can think they want to protect the innocents lives, and promote order and they do, but they get off.....almost orgasmically to rocking and rolling....they especially like it when an elected officials tell them to do it.

This just simply isn’t true or cops would never be fired or prosecuted. How do you think that happens if cops just cover for each other all the time?

Like Goethe Floyd? Like all the protests to condemn Darrel Brooks?

Ive heard numerous doing exactly that.

Regardless, it makes no difference to the original premise that sweeping generalizations are not a good approach. You did nothing to suggest it is a good approach.

Perhaps but my point is that unlike pretty much every other time this shite has happened, she addressed it without a single mention of race. Those 1,176 people were from ALL races.

Until this time, they've always immediately run with the whole, "hunting black men" theme which is stupid, not true, and fricks up any chance of reform

I'm sure her approach has nothing to do with the fact that all the cops were black...don't be so gullible.

Show me. Show me the good cops calling out bad cops. And I'm not talking about compelled testimony during a trial. Show me good cops being proactive of wanting to rid the system of bad cops.

There is an ever increasing number of black voices among conservatives hoping to better the black community. Your comparison falls flat.

You don't need massive change (which won't happen) to fix something that affects a couple of people every year or so. The "change" they have in mind means spending tens of millions on sensitivity training and making cops scared to do their jobs (and making potential cops look for another career).

The change that needs to happen is squarely on the heads of Democrats: stop being criminals. If you want a police force like England's, polite bobbies walking around with rounded nightsticks, then stop being and raising thugs.

You are woefully mistaken on that low figure. Hundreds just in 2022 of police misconduct against people who were doing nothing wrong. But maybe you think police invading the wrong property and not leaving even when their chief tells them to is ok.

I was thinking in terms of fatal interactions, since if we're just talking about every government entity who abuses people, then AOC, as a member of the federal legislature, has no room to talk.

Your search tools work as good as mine. Hell my local police department put out a statement about this, though they have no part in it.

Yep. I remember that summer of protests over crime in chicago for example. Sorry I forgot.

Its your comparison. I called out the sweeping generalization—which you still have yet to defend, only deflect. But I fully understand why you’d do that.

Hundreds in a country of 331.9 million? Sounds like a pretty low figure.
ETA: Edited to give a better estimate of the current U.S. population.

If that was the case cops would never be jailed and/or fired for wrongdoing and that definitely is not the case

It happens rarely.

Should not take a national outcry to hold the bad ones accountable.

The reason there is a record high in police killing is the simple fact that the crime rate is much higher.

I’m pretty sure the overall crime index for 2021 was the same or equal to 2016 what it was in 2016, which was also far lower than the crime rate in the 70s-90s.

Or, just treat police officers like every other profession... Have the state issue a professional license, and have the officers carry professional liability insurance that they pay out of,not tax payers. Then end qualified immunity.

I am sure there's at least hundreds of medical malpractice a year too. That doesn't mean we should ignore it or not hold those doctors accountable.

Good lord. It's not hard. You are asking an armed force to enforce laws BY force. You are paying this armed force, in many areas, the same as you would pay a grocery store shift manager. You are asking this pool of employees to impose the will of the system on a growing culture who has been brought up to resist law enforcement to the point of violence. Further, the federal government is giving money and backing to terrorist groups who actively promote riots and ambushes of responding police. Critics demand further training, yet training centers are being sabotaged and attacked by leftist militant groups. In cities who have "defunded" their law enforcement, crime has skyrocketed and now the same individuals screaming for defunding are blaming cops. The cops don't write the law. The cops don't command the pay grade or training levels of their officers. It's really easy to blame the middle man, but trying to boil this down to "cops" is simplistic and ignorant. If cops were as bad as AOC like to make out, the body count in the metros would be like a warzone.

If a certain group of people had an ounce of respect for the law things would be different. I say bring on the Judge Dread era already and let's put a stop to this crimewave.

I would wager that the town of 4000 with 10 officers is a extremely safe place to live. I would also wager that the crime rate is really low.

Either that or they are too busy running radar on the interstate or on Main Street writing tickets to meet their quota.
