Why are Americans and Politicians not afraid of Thermal Nuclear War?

It seems like people are no longer afraid of "the bomb". Why?

Are they not aware of the destructive power of 2,000+ ICBM/MERV warheads? Are they no longer aware of the sickness and cancer if you are exposed to the fallout?

Are people ignorant of the destruction or just brainwashed with apocalyptic movies, shows, games and books and ignorantly desire the destruction?

I think the population has been gaslighted into thinking we can win or survive a nuclear war. Maybe, they naively believe we have a weapon system to shoot down all enemy missiles. Even if we did, what about prepositioned nukes? I wouldn't be surprised if Russia and China and maybe others, have them on our soil and near strategic locations (DC? we can hope), NYC, LA, military bases?

The stupid way our "leaders" are handling the Ukraine situation and Taiwan makes me sick. I hope we avert all out war.

Use this online calculator to see what would happen if slow Joe triggers a nuclear war. Put in your location, surface or airburst, and weapon yeild.
https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/ Oh, and give thanks to Ruby Freeman, her sister and all the election stealing cohorts. They put us in this dangerous situation.

An old radiation safety officer told me back in the 90s, if war happens, get on the table, pull down your pants, put your head between your legs and kiss your arse good-bye.

Probably because we know if it gets to that point there's nothing we can do about it.

Because they have a bunker to retreat to if it gets bad enough.

You don't

came to say exactly that.

it's an existential fear of mine subconsciously, because it seems so plausible b/c bad men have control of these types of arms.

but again, if it happens, we are so fked that even if we don't die from a blast or radiation, we will still almost all die from everything that follows in the aftermath.

Thermonuclear War.

And why be afraid at this point? If nukes fly, it's a global mutually assured destruction. We will no longer have to endure being harassed and shamed for not wearing masks or taking experimental gene manipulation therapy shots. LGBXYZP propaganda will no longer be shoved in our faces every day. I'll be with my departed loved ones. Our ever-devolving, increasingly secular society will finally be arrested.

Politicians are probably afraid, but only because they're self serving narcissists with no capacity to care about anyone or anything but themselves and their expansion of power and influence. And they would rather be vaporized by nukes than give up even an ounce of that power.

Get spiritually right, is all I say. Whether you believe that's through the Almighty or just a personal philosophy or whatever, I'd still be prepared to face the end.

Smaller tactical nukes? Nah.

Large hydrogen bombs? A bit, but the world needs a good cleansing.

The recklessness going on in the world tells me the powers that be aren't afraid of a major war, and in fact may want one.

That’s why if the bombs drop, I want one of those suckers to land right on my head.

American citizens mostly have lost their fear.

The political class pushing this are making their weapon lobbies rich... and I have to believe they believe they'll be protected by the globalist lizards pulling their strings. There's nothing else that makes sense to me, since they all seem to be of the unanimous opinion that Putin is an amoral, power hungry tyrant. They'd better hope they're wrong, because an amoral killer backed into a corner is going to come back with every weapon they've got.

I don't worry about the things I have no control over. You hyping it up with a horrific photo only makes you a big prick.

Perhaps the belief is they can shoot them down, perhaps a belief is Russia hasn’t maintained their ICBM so the threat is less.

I think the real answer is that they know that Putin is not quite the villain that is being portrayed by Western media.

I'm not saying he's good, just not a mad man that would risk mutual destruction over a slice of Ukraine.

That fat frick in NK should scare the shite out of anyone.

your whole premise is wrong.

back in the 50s it was thought you could win a nuclear war. Now, every Tom, Dick, and Jane knows it's unwinnable and if you manage to survive you have a very short window of living post exchange.

Knowing the above, a rational person simply chooses to live their life, betting that other rational people around the world -despite any perceived provocations, choose to continue living vs. ensuring their death by starting an exchange.

Politicians don’t care because they think they will be safe in a bunker.

The general public tends to either be ignorant or somewhat nihilistic, with the latter specifically thinking “If it happens, I ain’t going to live through it and can do not being to stop it.”
