That thing looks like something you’d take on an African safari. Pretty cool

The B18C was a great engine. I swapped the block with a B20B from a Honda CRV and milled the GSR head to match the larger cylinders. The greater displacement gave it monster torque those cars weren't meant to have.

It was a whole hell of a lot of fun to drive.

Mine is bored .030 over, compression lowered, etc., etc., for a turbocharger. Was putting 270hp to the wheels at 12 lbs of boost. It will probably get supercharged when it goes in the Mini.

Enjoyed seeing all the great cars and trucks in this thread, most have something in common regardless of age; we could fix them ourselves. Miss those days busting my teenage knuckles working on an old beater. Thanks Dad for teaching me how to repair and maintain my own stuff.

No regrets on vehicles sold. But memories of a few good ones.

I went back with rubber bushings. Too many stories of premature cracking and a harsh ride with the polys. I think todays rubber bushings are a better quality than what was available at that time ('60's) and mine is not a track car so any gains with the polys offer no extra value for me.

Also, the orange '69 ZL1 (Gulf Car) is coming up for auction later this month. Will be interesting to see what it brings considering the questionable authenticity of it.

I think rubber is in my future as well.

Yeah, Will be interesting to see the ZL1 hammer price with questionable documentation like you mentioned.

Used to have one of these, even the same color:

I miss it. It was a fun car to drive especially on a sunny day with the sunroof open.

I don't but my parents had a few before I came along I wish they had hung on to. Dad had a Chevelle SS and an early 70s K5 Blazer and mom had a 70s Mustang Mach 1. I'm not quite as nostalgic over the Pontiac Station wagon they had by the time I debuted.

1954 Chevrolet 4-door, not this Bel Air side trim chrome package but similar. A tank of a car, vv heavy. No power steering or power brakes. All mechanical.

After a big rig ran over grandparents on Airline Hwy around 1972 (in the 1954 Chevy, flipped the car a few times), they bought this 1969 Chevelle sedan, 250 straight 6. All mechanical. Heavy as half of a tank to drive, no power steering or brakes. Sold it years ago.

Then came John Henry, the 1976 Chevette. A hand-me-down ride. 250,000 miles, hole in the floor board, burned oil, and leaked coolant, but John Henry kept going. Didn't look like much, but he never failed. Strong as an iron hammer. [/img]

Talking story about autos. Owned a couple of Fords, meh, then a Datsun 280ZX, then a Toyota - then settled on Honda.

06 G coupe. I loved that car but had to sell it in order to afford my custody battle. I was driving back and forth from Florida to NOLA every other day and gas was killing me. I bought a Honda civic hybrid and I hated that car from the day I bought it until the day I sold it. frick, I hate the thought of that damn car.

Diamond graphite with black leather interior, fully loaded 6 speed manual. Damn I miss that car.
