The efficiency of it depends on the relative humidity. If the rH is low, you can get a significant amount of evaporative cooling.

But it's negated a fair bit by the homes insulation.

And this has happened 100s of times in the history of the Earth, maybe more.

Cost and the laws of thermodynamics. Heat energy can't be destroyed dumbass, only converted into another form of energy or transfered to another system.

Sea ice doesn’t change sea level. Keeping it on land does. Also “making ice” just moves heat. It doesn’t get rid of it.

Interesting, so in the attempt to tackle issues we associate with global warming, we are going to burn fossil fuels to freeze our own icebergs?

You know, I think the biggest problems we face with global warming is that it only serves to divert people’s attention away from the very real pressing problems we are facing in society, quality of life and an oppressive government in our lives, driving the country into insolvency. So, instead of focusing in on holding government accountable, we are tryin to save an entire planet which might make for a good Hollywood movie, it isn’t based in anything rational or achievable.

What is wrong with humanity today can be seen in every bit of this.

We already do. It’s just a question of scale.

Yes it does, but very little. Mainly because of the difference between seawater and freshwater.

This might also sound crazy and no I do not know how expensive or practical this is but…

Recently there’s been a lot of effort and money out into the idea of interplanetary travel and giving us a chance of survival if/when this world eventually becomes uninhabitable.

Isn’t there like, a frick ton of ice out in space and on some other planets? How feasible would it be to use some of that to cool down oceans?

Or am I just an absolute buffoon and this is untrue and/or impossible?

Why would we do this?

If sea level ever actually becomes a problem, pump sea water to the center of Antarctica where it would make permanent ice mountains.

Do you know how much water we would
Need to pump to drop global sea levels 1”?

I’d be willing to bet it’s more water than has ever been pumped in the history of mankind combined.

i assume the answer is obvious.

but if we don’t create mass panic amongst the population then our power and money hungry politicians have no use.

But it seems to be pointless...

So you're going to stand outside in the hot sun and power water on your roof to cool the house that you're not occupying?

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Not to mention why the need to get on the roof? Just spray the top of it from the ground

And if we don't get rid of our vehicles, lawnmowers, food sources, and start eating bugs by Tuesday, it will be too late. Ermagerd!!
