Yes but the Dems had no intention of losing that seat.

6. Donald Trump was a major drag on Republicans, from his picks to his antics.Trump picked bad candidates, spent almost no money on his hand-picked candidates, and then proceeded to crap on the Republicans who lost and didn't sufficiently bend the knee. This will have 2024 impact.

Feels like this is more of a Dem narrative and now a RINO narrative. Not so sure about this.

Some of it is Dem/RINO narrative, but some of it is not.

Trump has well over $100 million in campaign funds sitting around. How much of that did he spend for his candidates? I think here in Atlanta I saw one ad for Walker that was a Make America Great Again Inc. ad, and that was just within the last week. Compare that to McConnell who raised (and spent) over $200 million in this election cycle.

I also think what we are seeing (to a degree) is a rebuke of both the far left and far right candidates in swing/purple/light red/light blue areas. Of course the AOCs and MTGs will win in those areas, but in areas with a high number of independents, there were defeats for both woke and Trump/MAGA candidates. Also, there were a handful of Repulican candidates who probably wouldn't be "Trumpy" as I saw one person say on Twitter this morning, but thought they had to act like it/campaign like it in order to win, when in all honesty it is probably what cost them the election.

That would be evidence (not proof) if Oz wasn't such a shitty Trumpkin.

Look how another shitty Trumpkin, Walker, underperformed Kemp in Georgia.

Do we ignore all the Trump candidates that won while you're trying to make this stupid point?

Big take away for me is Republicans ran their best candidates in districts where they really had no business winning and were competitive, but lost. They ran their worst candidates in districts they had the best chances to flip, and got mixed results.

I'm happy for you that you think this and I may agree with you but he was such a shitty candidate that it actually was close and he lost.

Let me guess though- election was stolen?

Turtle and Graham are to blame!

I can't stand Mitch, but he pushed 35 mil to Ohio to support Vance even though JD said he didn't support him. JD was a Trump pick and DJD didn't send a dime of his 100mil war chest to help. Trump pushed a group of bad candidates through the primaries (Walker, Bolduc, Oz) that are going to cost the GOP control of the senate. Masters may lose AZ too.

Trump found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and now we are stuck with 2 more years of a Dem senate.

Ben is basically a Never Trumper
Lol are you serious? Ben is the biggest conservative podcaster in the world and probably the 2nd biggest conservative media figure behind tucker. He 100% went after Hillary and Biden as hard as he could for trump. Now because of his ability to look at results he's a never trumper? Bro you might be in a Cult
You must understand that, for a certain segment of the population, anyone who would not sacrifice their first born child on the altar of Donald Trump is a “Never Trumper.”

Right wing populism is doomed to fail. Its no secret, you have to find better, smarter candidates that communicate beyond a 6th grade level.

I don’t think you understand, it’s very simple though, if the republican candidate wasn’t so crap, we would have won.

That's your assertion. A better candidate may have helped theoretically (may). But if they voted for Fetterman, the worst candidate imaginable, they most likely would never have voted for any Republican, period. Whether that is because they're too easily swayed by advertising or celebrity endorsements, or they're just plain stupid is hard to say.

Candidate quality matters to Rs and I dependents with regard to voting enthusiasm not so much to Ds. They just want elected Ds to vote 100% with the DNC.

He barely even tried. He worked 6 hour days and had very few events on his own. Vance did the same thing. So lazy.

That's kind of the trade off when you go for "outsiders" who "can't be bought". Trump is idiosyncratic.

Hes a celebrity tv doctor who sold "magic weight loss" pills and the dude literally lives in another state.

Would you vote for a congressman for Louisiana that live in Alabama?
