Do all of you honestly believe Daniels is really that bad? CBK gets paid $10 million/year and he has made it very clear that he is living and dying with Daniels as his signal caller. Whatever it is, CBK sees something in Daniels that a lot of people here don’t see. It’s apparent that JD will be a big part of this program going forward and will probably be our starter next year - trashing him on the internet isn’t productive and won’t make anything any better

Personally, I think it's less about Daniels and more about Nuss.

Losing with him isn't either.

Daniels is a bad QB and I don’t give a shite how much Woodward is overpaying him.

White knighting for him on the internet won't make anything any better, either.

He’s not a Great one either.. he’s a runner when his first to reads are of he doesn’t stretch the field.. (escape the pocket looking for receivers to create separation) he runs everytime missing wide open guys down field! It’s annoying! We have running backs and he’s nowhere near Lamar Jackson when he was in school so cut the crap and bench him!

He's not good. BK's decisions lately have been suspect at best. People think he's not good because they see not good QB play. If he want's people to think he's good, then he needs for people to see good QB play. If he's our QB next year, then BK won't be getting anywhere near a championship in 3 yrs.

He's not bad, but he's not that good, either.

He made some strides this weekend in regards to letting it fly a bit, but he's still not what we need. When you've got receivers as highly rated as our guys, you have to air it out and let them go get it.

This could also be an issue with the offensive philosophy.

Gerry DiNardo used to say there was nothing wrong with Lou Tepper's defense.

Coaches say stupid crap all the time.

Daniels may not be a bad QB, but he is far from a good one.

In another thread, I posted that v. Tennessee our passing offense had only 3 completions cover 20or more yards. Two of those were exactly 20 yards and one went for 23.

The vast majority of his throws are inside of ten yards and most of our completed pass plays v. Tennessee were less than 10 yards with a bunch that went for 5 yards or less.

Not gonna win games if you don't put pressure on the defense.

He’s below average Bc he won’t take risk on 50/50 balls or tight windows. No ability to throw a WR open.

His fear of turning it over and losing the game is why LSU can’t sustain drives or get in the endzone..which will get you boat raced like Saturday.

When you have a shaky / beat up OL with no running game…you better take risk and get your playmakers on the outside involved.

Denbrock has issues, but you can’t change him this week lol.

You can either lose by having a QB like JD or put in the gunslinger

After 6 games…you need a spark on offense…put in the gunslinger.

He is adequate, but how did he beat out Brennen with the way MB played in SEC games. It is kind of hard to understand how MB dropped to bottom of the QB list. MB could certainly fit the ball in tight places. Was he never fully recovered from his injuries?

Yes I do. He can not read a defense. He has excellent mobility but just can’t make the throws at this level. The problem with Nuss is he truly has not been given a true chance. Give him a week of first team snaps and more than mop up duties. You ask him to come in without the preparation and perform.

I was thinking about Daniels while watching the Bengals/Ravens game last night.

He certainly has wheels and can get out of trouble or setup designed runs, just like Lamar, but he’s not nearly the quarterback that LJ is to play that type of style. Daniels isn’t nearly as accurate as top end QBs, his mechanics are off (getting the ball out quickly especially), his field vision and his decision making are just poor. I think much of this you can actually work around with better scheming, which is another area of concern with the offense I won’t get into.

The #1 thing for me though is it seems Daniels is too afraid to make mistakes to take risks so we have no downfield threat. Whether that’s in the middle or over the top, it’s non existant in our offense. Even if you miss them, like Lamar did a few of last night when his touch was off, the ability to throw the ball 50+ yards downfield at least keeps the defense honest and can open up the run lanes. This element is completely missing with JD and our offense as a whole.

LSU fans are all too familiar with “bad QB” play so we know it when we see it. The only truly good ones the last 15 years have been Burrow and Mett. The rest were all mediocre to bad. Daniels isn’t the worst among those, but that also doesn’t make him a good QB either.

By your logic Jimbo Fisher or any highly paid coach has never made a bad decision because they’re paid a lot of money.

He is playing that bad right now. It almost looks like he has a mental block that will not let him release the ball downfield.

Another possible problem is Daniels came from ASU and Denbrock came from Cinncy so JD is still learning Denbrocks system that is not firmly entrenched. We saw Burrow have pedestrian yr his first yr here and then when the right offense presented itself he was much better and had full trust of the coaches to run whatever.

Daniels does not have the trust of these coaches to run a play without "check with me"

A lot of fans won’t accept any QB not as good as 2019 Joe Burrow. shite they wouldn’t even accept a 2018 Joe Burrow at this point. It’s ridiculous. Let’s have realistic expectations.

Kelly’s QBs at Notre Dame underperformed for the most part. Basically one developed in over a decade there and he wasn’t even really that great.

Kelly simply isn’t a QB guru and that is okay. He just needs to hire one and he didn’t do that.
