I was just looking at it. The article says that all government agencies will be paying but the airport does not show anything being paid. However, the Amazon warehouse, car dealers, shopping centers and churches will definitely be chipping in!

So SG won’t pay!!!!! But we will pay because they won’t let us leave!!
Remember when they told us if we left our taxes would go up. BS

It has been created because no one has addressed it or done anything. Probably because of the Huey P Lang attitude of all my ahit is free. Don't do anything. Things fall apart. Biatxh. Man, that formula is why we are what we are.

You think your neighborhood's stormwater runoff disappears into a wormhole or something?

To be fair, my taxes disappear into a wormhole

It probably goes into the same wormhole that Baker, Central and Zachary does.

I can’t wait to see who gets nominated to what surely will become a “Stormwater Board”.
Will there be a new Exec Dir. position and staff?
How about a big office building?
Official vehicles and their own security force?
We are turning into Orleans Parish.

Oh that’s the reason, huh?
Not because monies are squandered on shite like overfunded libraries, an ineffective and horribly-run CATS program, and a corrupt arse Council on Aging.

So my lot is 49% impervious to water and has a $175 fee. All my neighbors are in the 20-30% range and have a fee under $100. I then started looking around at other houses with pools, I am assuming that is why so much of my lot is "impervious" and other houses with pools are still under $100. WTF? Did they just make up shite?

Don’t forget they will have to hire a program manager, consulting engineers and people to do the marketing and PR.
Which donors will they be?

Looking at my neighborhood - they either used a Ouija board or a magic 8 ball to come up with these figures.

It’s something like $1.3X per 500 sq ft of impervious area on your lot per month. Some bullshite like that.
ETA:
quote:
The annual stormwater user?fee will be calculated based on your property’s impervious area square footage and the monthly stormwater rate per Stormwater Billing Unit (BU). One BU is equal to 500 square feet of impervious area. In 2024, the monthly stormwater rate per BU is expected to be $1.36. Therefore, for example, if your property has 1,000 square feet of impervious area, your annual stormwater charge will be calculated as follows:?
1,000 square feet of impervious area ÷ 500 sf (BU) = 2.0 BUs?
2.0 BUs × $1.36 × 12 months = $32.64 per year
I do notice they don’t lock in a rate. They leave that open ended by saying “in 2024, the annual fee is expected to be $1.36 per month.” Wait till that shite keeps going up, up, up. Like everything else we’ve been experiencing.
I’m fricking angry about all of this shite. But know there isn’t shite we can do about it. Government pisses me off so much.

The feds are involved
The question that EBR residents need to ask is it a water quality issue or a water quantity issue? Both are applicable to stormwater runoff.
And check out LSU's piece of the pie. About $44K a year....

They are trying to act as if this is just a small deal.
MovEBR was estimated to bring in an estimated 46 million dollars each year, and was touted as the largest program ever in EBR.
The Stormwater plan is estimated at 38.5 million per year.
Is this number 2?
ETA: just don’t accept their survey of your property. I know mine is wrong.

Complete horseshite that we’re on the hook for our elected officials poor decision making. How about we address WHY we have flooding issues. Stop approving developments in flood plains.

How exactly do we contest?
I need to do the math on mine to make sure it would actually go down if I contested, but I can tell you they have mine equal to the house to one side and more than the house on the other side when both of those have more impervious area than I do.
My concern is they'd leave mine as is and just raise the neighbors, which I don't want.

You need to ask that question to your councilman or at a public hearing.
On the news last night they said Southern would pay 200K a year and LSU 70, but the commentator said she didn’t know how that worked.
