Reposting so it doesn't get lost at the bottom of the last page.

Thousands will pay more than 20 a month. I know I will, and I know the people asking got it can’t spend it correctly.

if they've already put that much effort into that site, this is likely a done deal. People can show up to bitch but I doubt it matters

Here is their detailed( cough, cough) spending plan from their website;
As you can see they put a lot of thought into this. I bet they had to use two napkins.
They are pushing a 38 million dollar a year tax and all we have are promises based on faith in them and this plan. Pathetic.

How will the funding be spent?
$40 Million for operations and maintenance
$3.3 Million for operating reserves
$1.6 million for cash financed capital investments
$1.1 million for billing and remittance fees
$0.5 million for potential debt write-off
As you can see they put a lot of thought into this. I bet they had to use two napkins.

Yes, they paid someone a lot of money to do all this work. It’s probably a done deal.
It’s a rerun of an old game. First they neglect a problem and folks get upset. Then they scare you with the Feds. Next they say they will fix the problem and it will only cost you a little bit and look all the good things you are going to get.
People need to remember, the same people that got us in a bind are the same people you are counting on to take your money and fix the problem.

The budget for entire proposed City of St. George was more thorough than this, and that was one of the bullet points used to fight incorporation.
They should be required to provide better than back of the napkin math in order to justify a $46 million "not" tax.
Seems like some big wigs out there would be able to file suit to stop/slow this.

It has been addressed and throwing more money at incompetence is not a solution. Look at it this way, $100,000 could be thrown at you and you'd still be a moron.

How much are they paying the consultant for the website? Bet we get another new library out of this too and they will dredge the city lakes with funding too.

Doing a little more reading on other cities and state's Stormwater Utility District, I see how it is needed. Apparently Louisiana is behind the times and this should have been done years ago (which would have saved $ millions).
But, I still strongly disagree with the fee rate that they are proposing. They state that the average resident will pay $10 a month. Looking around, that would likely immediately put Baton Rouge as one of the most expensive stormwater districts in the US.

In this case, I can confirm, Oak Hills is in Baton Rouge enough to get this tax.

If you see page 2 of 2 on the bottom in that box, click on that. If not, click on the double folder to the left of the X which unlocks it and gives you the fee.
