instead of constantly trying to stick a square peg into a round hole?

It is the WR route tree that needs to be reworked and no stretch plays in the running game.

THIS
This is the question we should be asking, not whether we are better putting a currently below average pocket passer in Nuss back there.

When our offense is run heavy, full of read options, RPO’s, boot legs, and play action we look competent. Is it exciting offense? No it’s 5-6 yards at a time but it gets the job done and utilizes Daniels abilities as a runner.

Instead we keep running these 5 step drops in the pocket with receivers running route trees that take 3 seconds to develop, that just ain’t in Daniels wheel house.

JD should not be asked to go through progressions, call some sort of options most of the time.

My God! Last night during the game it was reported that they asked Daniels what plays he felt comfortable with and that's what they're running. It was stated that BK said they basically removed the plays he's not comfortable executing.

What more can you do to run an offense "suited" to your QB? Can we all just admit JD can't read the defense and has no clue when or where pressure is coming from pre-snap? Also, he holds the ball too long if no WR is wide-open. Not to mention he has bad pocket awareness. He get happy feet and runs into pressure.

Ashford looked a lot more poised and ran to escape pressure, while still looking downfield and as a result made more explosive plays. I think we had maybe 1 play of more than 20 yards. JD can learn a lot by watching how Ashford played.

How exactly do you adapt to a passer that refuses to pass? Triple option?

You mean a guy that HAS NEVER had the ability to anticipate and throw receivers open and one who doesn’t ever want to make a mistake?

That is something you can’t coach. Bench his arse is how you get the message through. He is gun shy from all those picks the last season

Denbrock has a running QB that he continues to drop straight back. He refuse to roll him out and rarely call plays that has the qb running or a threat of the qb running then throwing.

Daniels is the square peg, the SEC is the round hole.

Because a D1 college QB should be able to complete passes longer than 5 yards with some consistency.

Watch Kansas to see how we should be structuring our offense. They run very creative plays to confuse the defense. I have not seen that from Denbrock so far

Consider This: Daniels has never played in a fully packed more hostile environment than he did last night.

With each passing game, I am ever more tempted to compare Denbrock to Cam Cameron.

I didn't know that taking a quick look and running was a skill set.

I thought the adjustment in 3rd quarter with some read option plays and option for TE in flat was a good look. Qb draw was a strong play too. He designed running opportunities for Daniels in 2nd half and it was effective.

They talked about this during the game. They said that they do cater to Daniels and which plays he says he’s comfortable with. People complain about us not passing downfield, but then also complain about us not catering to a QB that doesn’t seem comfortable passing downfield. You can’t have it both ways in that situation.

This team has a lot of issues, but they’re still finding ways to win. Yes, I expect us to lose more games this season. Yes, watching this offense is a bit frustrating. No, I don’t know what the solution is. That’s tough because I think everyone holds a bit of that responsibility: Daniels needs to learn how to read defenses better, the WRs need to secure catchable balls, and Denbrock can put his QB in a better position. But again, this is a patchwork team. We got better 3 weeks in a row, then took a big step back in our first SEC road game, in a hostile environment. Jorden-Hare is always a tough place for LSU. Yet, we found a way to win. Maybe that’ll spark a little bit more confidence and we take another step forward next week.

Kelly: Jayden what plays are you not comfortable with out there?

Jayden: pass plays

End of story.
