Big was a huge movie at the time.
Showed his acting chops.

He doesn't specify the four. Private Ryan and Castaway seem obvious to me.

As Executive Producer, Hanks technically "made" Band of Brothers, so I'll nominate it as my favorite gem that he's had a hand in.

I will say that, of his movies, I do recall leaving the theater after Forrest Gump and wanting to be a better person. It was wholesome and altruistic, attributes that were foreign to my early-20s self. At the time, it was the first movie that ever provided me any personal inspiration.

Or his best role, Jimmy Dugan?

He's probably thinking of Forrest Gump and Philadelphia, perhaps even more than Castaway.

Correct. Bachelor Party is his most underrated acting performance. He was great in it.

I'd say Dragnet. He could've overshadowed Aykroyd but instead he gave him room to give an amazing Joe Friday performance.

Castaway is nowhere near his too 4 IMO.

SPR and Apollo 13 for sure. Forrest Gump? Big?

If he was being serious, Philadelphia would obviously be 1 of the 4.

But he's not being serious.

Probably not Joe vs the Volcano.
No, this is definitely one of his best films.

Absolutely those 3. The other one I'd say either like Apollo 13 or Big.
