What was the most relaxing vacation you have ever taken? Where did you go, and what did you do?

Costa Rica last year.

My wife normally likes to pack a bunch of shite into our trips, but I was adamant about a trip where we had fun, but in a very relaxing way.

Here is my experience:

Love Costa Rica and look forward to going back soon.

Actually pretty random. It wasn’t on your typical beach tripwith your spouse. Our family (wife and 2 kids) took a trip to dahlonega, GA in dec 2019 ( weekend before Christmas). We stayed in a Vrbo small house on a horse farm outside of town. Watched vhs movies at night. Sat on the front porch overlooking a pond at sunset. Visited local wineries and breweries during the day. Panned for gold. Participated in the city center Christmas celebration. Watched A Christmas Story play at the local theater which was fantastic.

Honeymoon. Bali.

Flew business class with lie flat seats, stayed in ocean front villas with private plunge pools, ate and drank very well, and did honeymoon activities.

Dahlonega

That olive oil place in downtown was awesome. And the fudge shop.

Edit: Our most relaxing was going past Dahlonega and into the blood mountains. Had a nice rental house on a creek with a hammock by a running creek.

The majority of my trips are active with a few off days, but I did go to Caye Caulker in Belize which was pretty overall mellow.

Orcas island in the San Juan islands. Felt like I was on another planet out there In a secluded airBnb cabin up on a mountain that overlooked all the surrounding islands. It had a huge balcony and was hands down the best sunset I’ve ever taken in. I could’ve stayed there forever. Just me n mrs jkyle kickin the F back.

Probably a Transatlantic crossing from Southampton to New York. We are usually on the go the whole time on vacations but a week on the ship gave us plenty time to relax.

St Barts.

Went during the slow season, just chilled around town, hit the beach, drank and ate.

I was maybe one of a hundred tourists in town.

Didn’t touch work emails for 3 weeks straight

In reality, it was the no work for 3 weeks that was the best

A week kayaking and camping in Glacier Bay. I didn't want to come home.

Stress melts away.

My trip to Italy. The second half after the bustle of Rome. Florence and wine regions and then we finished in Positano for 4 or 5 days.

Honeymoon to USVI. Beautiful beaches and calmness/relaxing all week. A close second would be a staycation the week before Christmas. Allowed me to enjoy the family and do some more Christmas related things without having the stress of work.

Sugar Beach St Lucia
- butler took care of all the details. we just had to show up. everything was very chill. even the waves at the beach were more like being lakeside than breakers.
