Spotrac finally updated their Rounds 11-20 slot values, so it’s easier to see exactly what teams have left.

Cards have signed 18/19 players.
They can only offer Cam Johnson $300,355.
I feel confident saying he’s gonna be a Tiger.

According to their draft tracker page, the Rangers have signed all 8 of their Top 10 round picks.
They can only offer Jake Brown $263,665.
I feel confident saying he’s gonna be a Tiger.

Twins will be interesting.
They still have their Top 2 picks left to sign (combined $9.6 mil slot) so they could conceivably save a ton of money to spend on Larson or the high school kid they took in the 19th.
Definitely something to pay attention to.

I’d be plenty okay with a Thatcher Hurd, Luke Holman, Cameron Johnson rotation. Throw in Gage Jump or Christian Little if he reins it in and we have an elite rotation with options if someone goes cold.

So just to throw out realistic hypotheticals for the Twins if they sign Jenkins for 7 mil (slightly under slot) and Soto for 2.2 mil (slightly under slot) they will have $425,600 left to play with not going to the 5% over. 5% over the bonus pool they were allotted would be $717,280. So if they wanted to go 5% over pool they could realistically have $1,142,880 to play with. Not sure how often in the past the Twins go over the 5%.

Like you said, they will be choosing between the 19th round HS kid and Larson in the 20th round.

Possibly. But I'll take our guy over theirs any day.

According to the Larson article I read, his ultimate goal is to be in MLB. He never mentions experiencing college life as an ultimate goal. I might be paraphrasing but he basically said "the goal is to play in MLB, I just have to decide what is the best path."

Jay is going to try to convince him that his path is through LSU.

This could go either way. I think our OF is going to be fine either way.

I mean all kids say their ultimate goal is to go to MLB. That's not really a shock.

I didn't read this article, but this was the exact conclusion I took from looking over a few interviews and posts of his. He did not seem like a guy interested in college at all. He was the only one I was worried about losing, but I still hope he comes to LSU.

I agree with both you and Wild. If the Twins make him a priority I can see him signing.

I’d be plenty okay with that too (besides Little lol). Possibly having a guy like Molina or Tygart (proven) to go on a Sunday is pretty wild.

MLB pipeline reporter who has been reporting all the signings said Jenkins will most likely sign for over slot or very close to slot value if it’s not over slot

Jay has said multiple times he only wants players whose goal is to get to MLB

I'd be pretty less than thrilled taking guys to play high level D1 ball who didn't have dreams of playing in the big leagues. You won't get their potential.
