Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

to be fair the round rock tournament lsu was in was like their first time doing the streaming stuff so it’s kind of expected to have hiccups the first go around.
quote:

Will the stream actually work this year? Last time Kendall’s D1 stream was worse than a diarrhea stream out of an a-hole.

I watched the round rock classic last weekend and the stream worked great for that

I think his deal at this point is every free dollar. Someone said they were waiting to sign the other last guy and then he’ll get the rest.

they have already signed all of their top 10 picks but him

I think you're just fundamentally misrepresenting the draft buzz around those players in their HS draft year.

lol I def remember everyone sweating it out on if Shores would make it to campus or not..Herring too but with him being a eligible sophomore most felt he would make it
BA last mock before the draft that came out today doesn’t have Schmidt in the 1st round or comp picks( yes we know he is most likely not making it to campus but just an interesting note)… They had Holman going with a comp pick

Not at an SEC level. He’s a PO at LSU

PO is pitcher only? just wanna make sure I’m not confusing that with something else lol

I feel like they’re all just repeating that same line that’s from 4 weeks ago. Don’t do this to yourself, his number isn’t that high. I don’t know what it is, but it’s not $3Mil, and he should be able to fetch $3Mil even if it was

that isn’t really true. I have been following this pretty heavy over the last month+ and this is just starting to come out this week from different publications and different people. Could it all be an agent ploy to get what he wants? sure but this wasn’t the conversation just a few weeks ago
baseball america just released their mock draft and had an interesting note on Schmidt. “There has been more questions about just how signable he might be recently”

A lot of phones are down in the area. Our phones at my office were down the majority of the day.

yeah Spectrum has been down for most of Texas today..Just got internet back that’s been out since 12

He's also a redshirt junior. So his age is already a factor against him from a pro standpoint. From an overall quality of college baseball standpoint, this is a good thing. Keeping older, fringe prospect guys in college makes the game better. There needs to be a lot more honest conversations about where guys stand with pro baseball and how pro baseball actually values them. There are only a handful of orgs that try to develop every guy in the minors. The rest just look at everyone as filler. If you don't have a tool that will get you a decent signing bonus, extend your baseball career by adding years in college. The opportunity when you go pro will be the exact same, but you may have developed a little more before getting there, increasing your odds of sticking.

listening to Jay Johnson in interviews this is one thing he kind of harp on with players. He is big on saying if your not drafted in the first 3 rounds your odds of making it are extremely low and the odds between the first and 2nd round are big too
Cam Johnson gives me PTSD with Bateman lol.. From all the reports I have read about him he is another prospect with stuff but have command issues. It’s probably best he signs honestly
I think that press conference basically hinted at what was about to happen. It’s clear a lot of these guys didn’t fit into the plan
only person that went over 110 was Jared Jones
Im just glad that kid they just interviewed will not end up in Starksville lol
we did that last year and we saw how that ended up. Jay probably knows where those guys are at and is moving accordingly

Neal’s tools are loud & hard to miss. His shine became jaded for a number of reasons & people just seemed to lack patience due to his rating coming in

honestly I question his health more than his tools
quote:

We’ll get excited about a guy with a 5.00 era & some strike outs tho lol

I think a pitchers stats are more nuisance than a hitter stats..I think we get excited about a pitchers stuff because ERAs can be slightly inflated based on context
this is why this whole thing doesn’t jive with me..I would say the only real four “losses” at least from a perceptive standpoint is Neal Kling Moffett and Johnson…Jay basically gave Kling and Neal EVERY opportunity to start. Neal literally was starting as a true freshman last year. They WANTED Moffett to be that guy and gave him chance after chance after chance and at the end of the day he couldn’t stop walking people. Johnson just isn’t there yet to be a contributor
I’ll trust the coach that has won everywhere he has been and just won a natty over kids that get cycled every 3-4 years
lol I saw plenty of players develop. Jared Jones couldn’t hit a breaking ball to save his life and his plate discipline was abysmal his first year. Last year he was the best hitter on the team and drew a ton of walks. Milam was abysmal in the fall and then became one of the best players on the team by years end. Maybe the kids complaining about development should look in the mirror.
