Unbelievable superstar
One of my favorite athletes of LSU of all time.
Chad Jones was off the charts special.

Chad Jones is criminally underrated at this point, which would have shocked my 2010 self, as at the time he was beloved at almost TM7 levels.
Dude was a baller and one of the great all time LSU Tigers.

Man forced a game winning fumble against Bama, decapitated an Arkansas player, single handedly saved the 09 MSU game with a punt return TD and a goal line stand, and pitched lights out in the CWS. Legendary.

A great Tiger. A shame that car wreck kept him from an NFL career
Its hard to ever say one player single handedly wins football games because of the nature of the sport but he came a close to that as you can for a defensive player in that 2009 Moo State game

Loved Jones. Sad I never got to see him decapitate people in the NFL like he did at LSU. Will never forget his INT in endzone at the MSU game to preserve our long winning streak over them. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Icongeauxtigers.png)

Miles choosing to start Danny McCray over him for awhile limited what he should’ve done for his career at LSU. Another one of Miles’ many frickups.

So good he literally ran down Darren McFadden from behind.
ETA: I had to check youtube to correct my memory. Chad did run down McFadden from behind but got blocked at the last moment and was not able to tackle him. McFadden ran a 4.38 at the NFL combine.

He was an elite football player, but probably my favorite memory of him was when he took the mound for the first time, I think it was against Auburn if I recall correctly. His fast ball had some heat.

versus Arkansas in special uni's at home (year escaping me) is all you need to know...in the end zone. Bad azz wrecless abandon.

Freakish athleticism. If not for his car accident, he would’ve been a star in the NFL

Chad Jones hit against Arkansas is still a thing of legend in my book. I remember showing my gf and she was shocked either got up.

His game on the road at Miss State is one of the GOAT Tiger performances. And he did it on D and special teams. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

Would have had a helluva professional career in both football and baseball, if not for that terrible automobile accident that almost cost him his life. He was so good at football and one helluva great pitcher with that wicked curveball and speed.
