So Trump wasn't allowed to get rid of Obama's Executive Order for DACA, but Biden can get rid of Trumps Stay in Mexico.

Great job SCOTUS

I’m totally fine with presidential executive orders losing power. This is a long-term win

Now enforcement of rules in books vs EO’s is what can be done openly as Blunders ( Biden) policy to ignore rules won’t restrain Border Patrol agents from doing their job

Live by executive order, die by executive order. The court continues force policies into their appropriate channels. The Remain in Mexico is good policy but this was the right decision.

Did you know it was against the law to come into the country illegally ? Should this administration enforcement of the law now be expected ?

Wasn't that decision made by a different Court make up? Seems a little unfair to criticize this court for that courts decision.

Dems tied up funding and "civil rights" issues to cause......

b/c now you can stay here while awaiting your hearing which is typically years.

And stay in mexico was a band aid using health concerns to keep them across the border to wait which should have been overturned.

Stupid decision. What is Kavabaw doing?

It's really not.

The only reason this case made it to SCOTUS is because the courts blocked Trump from rescinding one of Obama's immigration EOs. This was the wrong decision by SCOTUS.

They got this Texas decision right IMO. Presidents should have the right to rescind prior president's EOs.

With that said I believe the Remain in Mexico policy is good policy. But it is executive policy and not required by the force of law. If we want this policy to remain in place we need to pass legislation and make it law.

With that said, from a practical matter the Biden Admin would have never enforced the Remain in Mexico policy if Texas would have won.

When Trump wins in 2024 he can immediately put the Remain in Mexico policy back into place and enforce it. That's why elections matter.

Well, I don’t see why an executive order by one president couldn’t be undone by the next president

Did anyone think they were staying in Mexico anyway?

Actually I am glad to see the Court actually do its job correctly, even when the effects are not what I want.

Hope they stay true to this mode.

Yet they mandated the Obama's Dreamer EO had to stand.

Can someone explain to me the legal basis for the differences in rulings?

This isn’t the win for you that you think it is

Ruling by executive order took a serious blow with that ruling. Biden lost power.

Most conservatives are cheering this on despite agreeing with the policy itself. Conservatives really do attempt to stay consistent in their views that policy making should stay in the proper channels. Leftists want the W at all cost. Conservatives will take the temporary L for the long term greater good of limiting government. I like it.

I may not like that result, but I am much more concerned with adhering to codified law.

This is the nation I thought I grew up in. The sooner we get back to that status the quicker I can die happy.
