BTW, I live in NELA, Ouachita Parish.

I'm in Monroe. Richland State Bank was great until they got bought out by B1.

We have plenty of local branches such as Louisiana Land Bank, Homeland Bank, Cross Keys out of Tallulah, and even Ouachita Valley Credit Union. There are several others but you're going to have to call around to see what best suits your needs.

BancorpSouth is all through MS, AL, and LA. It’s based in Tupelo, MS.

I think Renasant Bank is too. They are based right across the street in Tupelo, MS.

I’m with you OP. I have had my personal account with Chase for over 20 yrs. It started out as a local bank and then they kept getting eaten.

Now Chase is utterly miserable to deal with and I’d rather go to the post office or the DMV.

Moreover the upper management that we don’t know and don’t see don’t GAF about us, and would instead use us loaning them our money as a means to control our lives.

I know community banks are the way to go - but any suggestions?

(Iberia Bank used to be a viable option but they sold out. Nobody that I need to get into an airplane to eyeball needs to be controlling my money).

I use B1 Bank for my law firm and to date have been pleased. I know my banker and she knows me. I’m thinking of moving everything else there. Except my retirement account which is with Merrill Lynch. BOFA sucks but my investment person is one of my best friends, and she hates BOFA as much as me.

When I moved to Pearland a couple years ago, I left my local bank up in Buffalo, TX and switched to Bank of America because it was located in the parking lot of the HEB grocery store we'd be using close to our new home.

About a week after I transferred my money, I saw one of their new ads about "supporting BLM" - went the next morning and withdrew to go with a local bank nearby which didn't advertise anywhere that I'd ever seen.

Truist(formed with the merger of BB&T and SunTrust) is a "non woke" bank. Or at least it has been. I have seen zero woke stuff from them.

Their founder, Kelly King, funded college courses about Ayn Rand at UNC Greensboro for a long time.

Truist's second CSR and ESG report highlights the company's continued commitments, initiatives and progress in:

Building better communities: Truist became the first regional bank to issue a social bond with $1.25 billion in aggregate principal to support new and existing eligible social programs for communities in need, including investments in affordable housing and enhancements to essential nonprofit services. Additionally, Truist Cares, a cooperative effort between Truist Financial Corporation; Truist Foundation, Inc.; and Truist Charitable Fund, granted $50 million to help communities and small businesses come back stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Accelerating financial inclusion: Truist advanced and increased the company's giving strategy to directly improve building career pathways that drive economic mobility and strengthen small businesses. In 2020, Truist gave $178.6 million across the enterprise, and the Truist Foundation awarded more than 900 grants totaling $79.8 million in 2020, with 53% of strategic partner grants serving Black and African American, Hispanic and Latinx, and multiracial individuals and families. The company also put $40 million behind its promise to provide sustainable funding for diverse businesses through its initial donation to help launch CornerSquare Community Capital, an innovative nonprofit fund supporting ethically and racially diverse and women-owned small businesses.
Setting measurable emissions reduction targets: The report outlines progress and goals to achieve the transition to a lower-carbon economy. Using 2019 as a baseline, Truist committed to a 35% reduction in both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030.

Advancing DEI: Truist announced objectives to increase hiring from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) from 3% to 5% by 2023 and spending with diverse suppliers by 10% by the end of 2022, building upon the diversity in senior leadership objectives the company introduced in 2020. Truist also released EEO-1 data.

Enhancing ESG governance: Truist has taken formal steps to increase transparency and accountability, including creating a Climate Risk Management and ESG Working Group, naming a new head of climate risk, and enhancing board oversight of ESG issues.

Also, I need a new credit card company to go with.
I have crapital one Visa card and after hearing what that fool samuel jackson said about the Honorable Clarence Thomas, I am through with them as well.

I am tire of supporting these American hating banks and American hating 'celebrities'.

Chase Bank and samuel jackson can KMA.

whatever snowflake does their commercials mean nothing at all, unless you are an idiot liberal, you should base your decision only on what the bank/credit card company itself says and does

I don't think Gulf Coast Bank goes up that way... but with mobile banking do you even need a local branch anymore?

Their CEO is on WWL Radio a lot, and while no one would confuse him with a Trump-loving PT board poster... he absolutely seems like he's pretty disgusted with liberal politics these days.

Now... they did close for Juneteenth... but being that it was a federal bank holiday, there was probably no reason for them to be open that day.

Local banks or CU for the win.

i talked to the president of one of our local banks at a deacon's breakfast about this. politics unfortunately came up amongst the ranks from a few of the guys. i avoided getting into it because that's not the time or place for it in my opinion. i could tell he was uncomfortable with the conversation like myself, but i asked across the table if he was getting hit with ESG pushes just trying to get the topic off bashing Biden. he said "a little, but not really."

afterwards, he grabbed me and asked how in the heck i knew about ESG. i just mentioned that i paid attention to politics and knew what was going on. he said he's getting hit all the time to work on their ESG scores and bigger banks and financial firms had been hitting him up to get on board. he doesn't want or need their capital, so he was able to say no, but he knows it's coming down the pipe.

There's that new conservative CC. Can't remember the name. I wonder if anyone in here has gotten their card yet.

After doing a little research, I found 'Coign', which is a VISA CC.
Some of the biggest holders of VISA stock are Blackrock and Vanguard

I’m with a local cu, only one location, and been with them over 30 years. Don’t charge me atm fees when out of town and they love Trump! Also can walk in, sign my name, and walk out with a loan.

Find a local bank or credit union that is not part of a chain, and has local officers and board members.
They will offer credit cards also.

That is the biggest impact people can make to stop this woke, ESG, Great Reset bullshite. Take away their money and give it to people who are local and accountable to their depositors.
