You gotta think, after 2 maybe 3 generations at most, no one will even have any memory of you.

I don’t really care for it but If another family wants it and it helps them remember their loved ones that is their choice.

I remember your story. It breaks my heart. Hope you and your wife are doing well. I can’t imagine losing a little one.

I think the pictures are fine, my issue with it is the dude ain’t dead yet and his name, pic, and birthday are on a headstone. frick that. I’m too superstitious for that. There is a set of headstones like that near where we buried my dad, where the wife is dead but the husband is TBA. Nope. Not me. Not tempting fate.

I find those unsettling.

and those are just irresistible bait for some trash to come along deface with some vile repulsive form of graffiti

My mother’s brother has an impressive one. It has a base that’s 2-3 feet high. It has a big picture of he and his wife in the middle, the date they married underneath, a quote in big letters, and then their names and their birth and death dates and all that. Columns several feet high extend up from each side with an engraving of a deer on one side and a bass on the other. And then the columns are joined at the top with their last names on it all big as shite.

No telling what it cost. He was a contractor and had his pallbearers dress in overalls and drive his casket to the cemetery on a flatbed. A rich redneck.

He and my mom were night and day different.

Correct. But I wanted to specify that he was my uncle by blood, not marriage.

Was in Italy recently looking through a local cemetery. Maybe a small majority of the new markers had pics. I kind of weirds me out.
