Anyone done Bogus Baisn in Idaho? Will have a couple of days in Boise and trying to decide if it is worth the trip up

I’ve never been to Bogus but I’ve been to Boise. You should go to Bogus because what the hell else you gonna do in Boise for 2 days?
In other news heard the wind was so bad at Breck today that a chair got blown off the cable on 8 Superconnect with someone on it.
Edited to add link chair fall at Peak 8

About to board my first flight on our way to Whistler. Looks like the snow is coming right on time.

Snuck in some Christmas Eve skiing before the hoards arive. Snowed all day here, to my surprise. Not a pow day but nice refresh of the terrain all day.
Gonna be 2023 before I ski again.

Back from Utah today, trip went a bit unexpectedly since I got sick and had to miss one day of skiing but I got three solid days in. Had a free Marriot night I needed to burn, so I stayed one night at the Park City Sheraton which put me in close proximity to Deer Valley. I had only skied DV once prior to this year, kind of swore the place off but I was wrong to do so. For one it has some great views.
The place also has some underrated glades, people that ski here do not want to work for their turns. It snowed 11 inches on Wednesday night, it was very wind blown so a lot of it ended up in the trees. I started the day out near the Lady Morgan bowl, this area has great glades called the Centennial Trees which you can ski off the lift which meant everyone else had the same idea. I did get into some nice powder but it got skied out quickly. After that I went to the Empire area and skied the X-Files.
These trees require a bit more work, you have a short traverse past the daly chutes and then a 2-3 minute hike. I got powdery turns out of this area for both days, the glades are almost perfectly spaced as well. Of course being at DV I also enjoyed the great groomers.
My favorite groomers are off the Sultan Express, long and wide with some steep sections. You can really get some speed here if you want which is fun. Also some fun mogul and tree runs here which you can mix in with the groomers.
The food at DV is also great but not cheap, I don't like to spend much at the resort for lunch but this time I indulged. Had their famous turkey chili and carrot cake, both delivered. I think spent $25-30 with the Ikon discount but I didn't regret it.
DV isn't for everyone, you can't snowboard there which is kind of dumb and it has a strange lift network that can make it hard to move around the mountain quickly but for a skier I think it should be on your list to check out once.

Big snow continues for the west, the cottonwoods could be looking at a possible interlodge this weekend with an updside down storm. They just got 25-35 inches of lighter snow, now looking at some mosture laiden heavy cream snow this weekend which could make for a very unstable snow pack. Upwards of another 50-60 inches possible, crazy stuff. The Sierras will continue to get hammered, Mammoth and Tahoe up to 100 inches possible now thru 1/7.
Colorado looks great from Steamboat, Aspen, Crested Butte, Vail and down to the southern mountains...2-3 feet from 12/29 thru 1/7. Jackson should also be in that 2-3 feet range.

Breck picked up 11 inches over the last day. All peaks are open. And I'm sure the town is a shite show this week.

I'm sure it is, which is why I avoid skiing between Christmas and New Years. Heading to Colorado in a few weeks, flying into EGE and going to hit Beaver Creek one day and then over to Aspen.

Did I miss something? This is still supposed to be a La Nina year right?
Who cares if this looks awful Nino like, everyone is fixing to eat.

I've been twice. I don't know why but I always feel uncomfortable when the ski valets want to put on/take off my boots. I can do that on my own but they always insist.
With that said, the views in Utah when on mountain are beautiful but I prefer the base views of Colorado.

Going to crystal tomorrow. They got 14" over the past few days then another 7" overnight, should be really good skiing especially with the forecasted sun coming out. Revelstoke and Sun Peaks (Canada) as well next Thursday-Sunday

Yeah, the views are a step below Colorado at the base and as a whole I think only Snowbird comes close to the best views in CO. The real advantages of Utah are ease of access and snow quality, Alta always has great snow even when I went last year and it hadn't snowed in a few weeks it was still good.

I need new goggles. But I’d like to try them on before buying. I already have to go to Christie’s in Avon to get my board tuned when I arrive. In yalls experience will there be plenty of inventory on hand? I’m worried about waiting and them only having $400 ones available or just limited options. Ones I’ve ordered last year just didn’t fit me right and I never would have bought them had I tried them on first.

Most places will have inventory. You may need to go to a few shops, but chances are good.
