All conservative Justices getting round the clock security

This is nuts to keep putting this off as if no leak occurred. The justices, their families and their staff are in increasing danger the longer this gets delayed.

I think CJ Roberts wants the pressure to be felt. No other possible sane explanation. None.

Roberts is trying to flip one of the conservative judges. That can be the only explanation that I can come up with. They are literally putting their lives at risk. Dems are bat shite crazy over killing babies.

They cant release the decision without the dissent, and the dissenting judges have no real need to hurry this along.

So most likely this will happen on the last day because if they aren't turned in by then the decision is published without them.

You do not seem to understand how judicial opinions get written by multi-judge appellate courts.

They get a general idea where the majority lies, and then one guy writes a first draft opinion. Probably half of that draft is NOT something the rest of the majority wants to see included, so another 20 drafts and markups flow around the court until consensus is reached for a majority.

The leaked draft was the very first step. (You can see this in how ideological, vs judicial, the draft is.) The other steps ALWAYS take a long while, especially on contentious issues. The final draft may well produce the same result, but you can be pretty damn sure that the text will contain major differences.

The decision will be realeased according to the original time schedule which will be in June. The thing I am waiting for is information on the leaker. The case of the leaker should be very easy to solve given the limited number of people with access to the information.

it was scheduled for release in sept or oct i think, they arent changing that

roberts allowed the leak so they have months to threaten and terrorize the conservative judges into changing their opinions, which can happen right up until they release the courts decision.

No it isn't. Altering the process would be nuts.

Major decisions are worked on until the very end, and usually not released until the last part of June or even early July.

Why would that have any impact? You think the vitriol will be lessened after it is released?

Patently false.

It's not just a vote where they raise hands and announce a decision. Opinions of SEVERAL cases are being passed around and edited. They'll be case law for years. Let them do their jobs.

Roberts does not want the Opinion to be issued. He is sitting on it so that they can end the session without it being issued. He is hoping that if enough pressure is put on the conservatives, they will fold and Roe can be preserved.

This is definitely how the decisions of our Justice system should be made!

Well, for one, the final vote on that case had not happened at the time the leak occurred, so the full opinion wasn’t written yet. Secondly, decisions for this term are typically released in June.

They won't change anything, including release dates, over this.

When the story first broke they said the final report was set for presentation in early June. It's not a postponement. Yet.
