What are the best types of shorts?

Something waterproof, flexible, with cargo storage, durable, comfortable etc. Stylish is fine as well of it meets the other criteria first.

I have a few pairs of Patagonias I’m fond of. One lane of Marmot that are okay. They’d be perfect if they were 2” shorter and cut a touch slimmer.
