This is exactly what our team needs right now. Now they'll be pissed and buy into the process even harder to prove everyone wrong. The "no one respects us" card is great.

I don't think anyone actually thinks this is a top 5 team, but there is enough talent at skill positions, and transfers addressed key needs. Add a couple transfers over the summer and this team should win 8 games. DL and WR might is among the best in the SEC. That talent can win you games.

I love it. Let us fly under the radar. We have been arse the last two years so I wasn't expecting us to start in the polls.

I certainly would not think we should be anywhere near the top 25. I see this as another 50/50 year.

Not sure if you are aware but LSU went 5-6 last season, got smoked by K State in the bowl game, complete roster turnover, new staff the list goes on.

Don’t worry about rankings until November. That’s when they actually matter. Go beat Florida state convincingly, beat the SEC teams you’re supposed to beat and don’t get embarrassed by the others. Pretty easy to finish in the top 25 at 9 wins including the bowl win.

I expect above .500 and then we'll see what the roster looks like next year

So we'll be just a tad bit better than last year?

Last two years were toxic. I'm confident that is cleaned up and out. This year's team will surprise some people. I'm predicting a 9 win transition season.

As we shouldn't be. All of the posters saying this is a top 5 team just isn't paying attention.

everyone should know that this is at least a 2-3 year rebuild.

but this is the rant and people will be calling for Kelly's head before the 1st game even starts

Baseball fans would tell you ESPN is the Baseball America poll of football

Even though the baseball team has been just as average

It’s Mark Schlabagh. It’s what he does. Pretty sure heading into 2019 he didn’t even have LSU in the top 10.

He’s always way too retrospective.

Schlabagh is pro-UGA. Always has been.

Some of those rankings are laughable. LSU will finish in the top 25, but they haven't earned starting there. I am expecting 8-4 with a strong bowl win to set the tone for 2023.

yeah, but we also had a ton of opt outs/injuries. Never seen a depleted roster like we saw in November the last two years. That was a referendum on the culture and former coaching staff. Just having numbers late in the season this year will help in outcomes. And we do have some definite strengths like WR and DL. I'm thinking 9-3.

Then why is USC ranked 12, they were even worse than us last year and have a complete overhaul
