Universal is right there and not able to do any of this shite yet they are surviving.

Someone explain this to me like I am Sheila Jackson Lee. Did Desantis do this because Disney is getting too woke and likes pedophiles?

What is Disney going to do? Move the theme park?

What do you suppose Disney is going to do that will effect FL residents?

What can Disney realistically do about it? They have many billions of dollars invested into their park there.

What is Disney going to do, move their office jobs, animation division, etc to California?
They just moved a ton of that to Florida to save money.
They going to move to Georgia? Georgia lost the MLB ASG over other shite lefty activists were pissed about and many other states in the south are on board with them.
The park is going nowhere.
Theoretically the corporate stuff would move but it would require a massive infrastructure investment somewhere on top of losing millions in what had previously been exempt from county taxes.

And they got 50 years of special tax district privileges in order to make Disney in Florida a thing. Nothing lasts forever. They can send someone down to city hall to pull permits now. I’m sure they have the money for that.

Look at how many visitors the Florida parks being in vs California, Japan, China, etc.
That one complex in Orlando brings in an insane number of their park visitors each year. Magic Kingdom alone brings in about as many people as both parks in Anaheim.

So you just threw that warning out there just in case they think of something?

We live in a world where liberals protect and defend corporate power and autonomy, while the right challenges corporate behaviors and makes attempts to legally mitigate their authority.
Wild.
Wild.

I already told you what they can do. They can move jobs, move projects, etc. There is a lot they can do, everyone just always says “well they won’t do that”. Well ok, maybe they won’t, but it’s now on the table

I'm going to point out two uncomfortable facts for the people of this thread:
1) Disney owns ESPN.
2) If you have a retirement account or investment portfolio that includes a major S&P 500 index, you own a small part of Disney.
Carry on.

As a small business owner (but in Alabama) I dislike huge corporations getting special tax deals or free land in exchange for coming here.
My family has operated this business for well over 100 years and we dont get shite. Which is fine, I dont really expect it but when some get the incentives they have an unfair advantage.
I wouldnt want Florida to add an extra tax to Disney, everyone should have to abide by the same laws\regulations.

I gave it up already. I would prefer to miss out on sports than support the ESPN agenda.
