Lunacy. If they take the L here they can pin it on "Trump's judge" and energize their base at least a little bit. If they somehow get it reinstated you're going to see even more backlash during air travel and more anger directed at Dems this fall.

Go ahead, appeal it.
If you win, you reinstate an unpopular policy.
If you lose, you reaffirm that you lost on the merits AND people are pissed you tried to reinstitute an unpopular policy.
If this had any merit medically, I could see appealing it. It doesn’t.

Even if they were planning on dropping it anyway, no reason to leave a wacky ruling by an unqualified judge out there without an appeal.

They cannot believe the majority of Americans support this.
They either:
A) Are the dumbest mfers to believe masks protect people and are only supremely concerned about people’s health.
B) Are actively trying to train people to follow orders to gradually gain more control

Yea, no shite. This was always going to be the case.
This is about Executive Branch power above anything else.
They will seek an injunction, which would put the rule back in place until it can be decided En Banc on the merits.
I bet they get it too, at the rate everything has gone in this country so far.
And then by the time it may actually be heard, they will voluntarily withdraw the mandate, making the Court to rule it moot...meaning its not actually ever ruled upon and they can just bust it out again.
