Currently have a Set of American Tourister -- lasted 3 years and 12 trips abroad. Ripping apart now. I really only use the 21" carry-on and 25" check.

What luggage have you personally owned and has held up?

I’m currently using cheap Amazon basics hard sided luggage. It’s held up surprisingly well when I’ve checked a bag over the last few years. For the price I figured I could replace it several times if need be. I bought the combo carry on and large bag.

I’ve never had to replace any of my Tumi bags. Countless trips domestic and abroad

I only use backpacks. I’ve traveled with Gossamer Gear, Mountain Hardwear, REI, and eagle creek packs and they’ve worked great. But depends on what you need… backpacks are obviously more casual.

We are in the same boat. Big fans.

One of the handles got jacked up on one of Mrs Crickets carry ons. Took it in and they gave her a brand new loaner. Called a couple of weeks later and said they couldn’t repair it and were sending a brand new replacement.

I only use Swiss backpack and hard side luggage. Luggage for 5 years and have frequently used backpack for 7 years. Great quality and only damage has been scuff marks. Will definitely replace with the same when ever that time comes. Not cheap but not too expensive.

This bag has been travelling constantly with me across 20ish countries since 2005. You do have to carry it everywhere as there are no wheels. Also it requires some Bick #4 every year, maybe twice a year, to stay in good shape. But it's butter soft these days from countless shoves, scootches, rolls, zips, etc...

I’m a mix of Travel Pro Platinum and Tumi. TP is less than half the price of Tumi so it’s got that going for it. The wheels on TP are best in class.

I like the osprey transporter wheeled bags. They get dirty easily, but hold up well.

I had some ugly Eagle Creek luggage I tried to kill when I started traveling professionally more, and I failed. It's pretty indestructible.

I have mostly Briggs now, which is also tough as nails.

Briggs and Riley Torq spinner and a Nomadic Travel pack have held up pretty well for me. I can pack enough for 5 days between the two. Travel pack is expandable if needed.

Spinner rolls super smooth and the wheels haven't given me any trouble yet. Travel pack has a luggage trolley, I don't think I could go back to not having one on my personal item. Game changer for me.

hard sided luggage scares me seems to be the ones most damage, ie missing wheels have to be duct taped closed etc.
Never really noticed what brands so there is that.

Prefer something light and durable. EagleCreek and Travel Pro are at least in my price range.

Thanks
