Does Transylvania still have the store with the baby bats?

Buffalo Rust belt vibes where they're trying to revitalize old buildings downtown. Have a AAA baseball team, the Bills, and Sabres for sporting events. You can't beat the summers there right next to lake Erie with tons of golf around. Niagara Falls is a half hr away. Excellent variety of food especially Italian. And the people are down to earth
Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, and Albany all suck balls. Watertown, too.

I live in Wichita, Ks (going on 5 years now) and I've loved it. No its not the most interesting place on earth but there's enough to do here to keep me happy. Its a bigger city that doesn't feel like a bigger city. People are friendly for the most part.
Crime is a little rough in some parts of town but theres enough good parts that you can avoid it.
ETA: I didnt completely hate monroe either. I wouldn't choose to live there again but I didnt think it was quite as bad as people made it out to be.

Detroit is awesome. I’ve had a ton of fun there.

San Antonio - underrated topography, bearable traffic (two loops and no tolls), laid-back culture, and relatively low violent-crime

All of Louisiana's cities get more smack talk than they deserve on the OT.

Detroit is a much better city than most rate it.
I feel the people that dog on it hasn’t been in the last decade.

I'll one up you with Lincoln - really nice small town thats relatively safe with some occasional bad apples. If you're a fan of college sports being played poorly, Lincoln is your hub. Stayed there and delivered there a bunch - Omaha is a 20 minute drive away and between the two towns there's tons to do and usually doesn't take too long to get back/forth because I-80 is 3 laned the whole way between the two metros.
PS - they actually work on and fix their traffic issues, like the bypass for NE-2 that's being built now.

Downtown Detroit is nice but the vast majority of the rest of the city is an abandoned warzone. The Detroit suburbs are great though and very underrated.

Philadelphia,
often overlooked to its nearby big brother new york. Has a vibrant festival scene, vibrant restaurant scene, most of the city is well kept compared to other large cities. public transport is good. People are friendly for a big city. lots of fine art, music, and shows rolling through.

I had a surprisingly good time in Kalamazoo, Mi. I've only been there once and it was for a couple weeks worth of work. I didn't realize it was a college town and had a pretty happening bar scene.

Little Rock. Cool town, people dress nice, close to two mountain ranges with a huge diversity in recreation depending on which direction you want to.
Everything you want in a big city but with small city ease.

I always roll my eyes a bit at people who unequivocally state that a certain major city or town sucks. Like there is a reason that it developed to where 500K+ people chose and continue to choose to settle there. There are pros and cons to pretty much every place, but if you go to any decently sized to large city and you can't find anything redeeming enough to have a good time there then the problem is likely you.
