What are y’all’s thoughts on this kid
He’s visiting us in a few weeks and our new defensive staff seems pretty much all in.
That being said, at least on his first round of visits, I don’t see much sec interest. I always find that curious for a southern kid….
Is he any good?

I think impressing the Many coaching staff will be a factor as well in his recruiting. Many is a small school power that got no love from the previous regime is my understanding. That's basically internet talk but I am sure there is some truth to it

There is no truth to this shite. Stop saying it.
O rebuilt a ton of relationships in Louisiana, they never burned Many because many doesn't produce that many real D-1 guys
They've had 1 kid worth even considering in the past 5 years. We offered, he committed then flipped like 3 days later. Before that we took Nic Jacobs from Many years and years ago. Small school power lol, you make them sound like John Curtis. Who should O ever have even considered that's come out of Many in the past 5 years?
Tacketts daddy is his HS coach. His dad is dead set that Tackett see's as many schools as he can and he isn't pressured into going to lsu.
It has nothing to do with hating lsu. It's a father wanting his son to take advantage of an experience that very few ever get.

It's amazing that they're always Arkansas or East Texas all of a sudden apart of the state when Andre Whitworth, Rashard Lawrence, Tre White, Morris Claiborne, Tackett Curtis, Devin White, Will Campbell or Bradie James shows up.

Your whole premise is wrong because Tackett’s dad is not the head coach. Jess Curtis is his uncle.

Norman Booker used to be on LHSAA and he was Many's principle. He pushed super hard for the split snd to maintain it. Last I heard he was arrested, not sure what for but it was well known he was banging HS chicks. They wanted the split because Evangel used to just kick the shite out of them every year int he playoffs it felt like.
Many just doesn't produce a ton of talent. But I would be willing to bet my paycheck that per capita there are more lsu fans in Sabine parish than Orleans Parish.

I've met Jess and I've never met Tackett. I've seen Tackett play 3 times. That's how familiar I am with the Curtis's.

Not arguing that man. I'm saying this narrative that we ignored Many while O was here makes no sense. They didn't have any kids that were prospects.

It does seem like the out of state schools recruited him harder. That happens sometimes.
You either want to come to lsu or you don't. If you don't then lsu needs to find a comparable player.

Damn dude it’s AJ Carter not Dillon. He nor the o lineman nor Warren were SEC talent. It’s true that the parish loves LSU and it’s true that the kids that Curtis got mad about were not D1 talent. Getting the names right would reinforce the point.
These out of state schools throwing out non commitable offers don’t hurt them, but Curtis wants to hold LSU to a different standard. End of the day, LSU didn’t ignore those kids out of spite but bc they weren’t LSU/D1 caliber, but now they have 2 kids that could be and it’s time to turn up the heat.

now this is (or sounds like) convincing information.
sounds like the coach wants committable offers from LSU, but can advertise that kids get "offers" from other schools. albeit NON-committable offers.
this is how recruiting, or negative recruiting works.
as far as this kid goes....it is hard to argue with a kid getting out to see the country. i would recommend this to the kid if he were mine.

The kid and the coaches have outright said LSU is behind in is recruitment because they didn't like the program O ran

FWIW mods on premium sites have mentioned O had no chance to get Tackett. Even Tackett mentioned about not liking the LSU culture when he was around and where things were headed, so as long as O was here we never had a shot with Tackett.
Wisconsin and other B10 schools have done a great job recruiting him early on which is why you see so much interest there. Tackett mentioned relationship building is huge with him and those schools have done the best job early on so his attention has mostly been there.
Kelly and staff are really going to have to blow things away for us to get back in it here. Not saying it's impossible but he is working against a few years of schools like Wisconsin working Tackett the right way. I wouldnt say Tackett is sold on leaving the state regardless but he certainly has no issue going far away.
