I've been invited to an Eagle Scout Court of Honor in February. This is for a young man that is the son of a friend of mine that I see 2-3 times a year (so we are not very close). As an Eagle Scout myself of course I am proud of him but I won't be able to attend due to prior commitments that day.

I haven't had someone around me get Eagle in a while, so what's a good gift to send the young man? I was thinking a nice card and $20. But anyone have better ideas?

If you know a taxidermist, then how about a nice stuffed eagle?

A real wooden canoe hollowed out of northern white cedar by no one other than yourself.

Anything less and you might as well just not send anything.

Scouting has changed a lot over the past 20 years.

Get him a frame for his LGBTQ+ badge.

A bottle of Eagle Rare seems appropriate.

At one time the standard gift was a Desert Eagle. Now it is a pearl-handled derringer.

He no doubt has camping gear and pocket knives already. if you don't know him very well and don't know a great unique gift for him, a gift card is fine. He's a teenager and would much rather buy something himself.

When I got Eagle a family friend gave me a Montblanc pen with a note that read "This is for when you start signing everyone's paychecks."
