They now want to regulate washing machines to use less water to confront climate crisis

Stolen from the poliboard

Biden's Energy Department last month proposed new efficiency standards for washing machines that would require new appliances to use considerably less water, all in an effort to "confront the global climate crisis." Those mandates would force manufacturers to reduce cleaning performance to ensure their machines comply, leading industry giants such as Whirlpool said in public comments on the rule. They'll also make the appliances more expensive and laundry day a headache—each cycle will take longer, the detergent will cost more, and in the end, the clothes will be less clean, the manufacturers say.
To all these bastards that want to ruin our way of life for climate crap can go freak themselves

So now you’re going to have to wash your clothes twice and use more water. Idiots.

Instead of lasting 5 years these will last 3 but they'll cost $1600.

We will all be poor by then and will have to hand wash our clothes and hang them up like the old days

It's because all the people making the rules have probably never dirtied any clothes that needed a real wash.

The climatologists really yearn for the wonderful days of the 1850s. No modern conveniences, living off the fat of the land, but we will all be slaves this go around.
Just wash your clothes in the creek and dry them on a clothesline you shitlord.

We are using way too much water, this is a good thing. I’d like for water to still be abundant when my grandkids are growing up.

Wait, I thought climate change was going to melt the glaciers and flood the world. How can we be facing a shortage of water? It was supposed to be an abundance of water and shortage of land!

This is a problem in a limited number of places. If you’re living somewhere that it is, you can get the shitty appliances.
As for me, 4.5 million gallons per second are passing by a few blocks from my house on the way to the Gulf of Mexico every second of every day. Leave mine alone. We’re fine.

I’m going to do everything I can to hold on to my 15 year old washer and dryer.

Trying to heavily police residential water usage is painfully fricking stupid, at least outside of extremely drought prone areas. The staggeringly overwhelming majority of water used is by industry and agriculture. You could make every residence utterly miserable and barely move the needle on overall water usage.
